Does Max Brosmer have an NFL future after one year with Gophers?

Realistically, his NFL future will likely begin on a practice squad. Former Gophers quarterback Tanner Morgan got one shot with the Pittsburgh Steelers as their No. 4 option in training camp, and Brosmer could have a similar journey. He does train with well-respected private quarterback coach Quincy Avery, which could help him earn a shot, but he isn't near any NFL Draft prospect rankings at this point of the process.

Go Gophers!!

As an example, Chase Daniels had many years of drawing NFL paychecks with somewhat of the same make-up. Right situation at the right time..... It would be better if he were to go the FA route. Otherwise, head north to Canada. New Hampshire is close to Hamilton, Toronto, and Montreal......

I honestly don’t know if he has the arm strength because we rarely saw him throw downfield.

Brosmer has the best shot of playing an actual NFL game of any QB who finished college a Golden Gopher.
That is probably true. I don't know if Max will get drafted but someone might take a late round flyer on him. Do think there is a good chance he finds his way onto a roster somewhere and he seems like the kind of guy who could carve out a backup QB role in the NFL.

I know pros go nuts for arm strength but the guy has a brain for the game. His decision making here was stellar and he throws to spots, not players. I feel like that is extremely meaningful at the next level and is something he won't need to learn, he already has it

He goes through his progressions better than most QBs at the college level. Doesn't have the physical tools to be a high draft pick but I could see an NFL team interested in having a guy like Brosmer on their roster as a backup.

His tangibles won’t blow you away by any means but he’s smart and accurate. Him making so many calls at the LOS this year should help too.

Just to put in perspective how good the NFL is, Chase Daniel was an amazing college football player - legend at Missouri. He was a Heisman Finalist and had over 100 career TDs. I love Max and I know you're talking about similar makeups, but I just wanted to flag how good so many NFL journeymen were in college.

The fact he made the adjustment from New Hampshire to Big10 football speaks to his maturity and skill. Respectable stats. He should get a shot

No disrespect to Tanner Morgan, but Brosmer is 10x better... I think if he gets a shot, he'll impress some people. I'm hoping he gets drafted in the late rounds.

If his release is as fast as they say, then I think he has a chance.

Things have changed a ton in the way younger players train now. When Aaron Rodgers first hit the NFL, there were questions abouit his arm strength and the fact that he was a Tedford product (Jeff Tedford was a college assistant coach who had a hand in developing Trent Dilfer, Akili Smith, Joey Harrington, Kyle Boller, and Aaron Rodgers--all high draft picks that outside of Rodgers didn't light things up in the pros). I'm not saying Brosmer is in the same galaxy as Rodgers. I'm only saying that there are ways to improve arm strength without sacrificing accuracy.

I think Brock Purdy could be a comp with Brosmer in some sense, although Purdy has this uncanny feel for the game and is extremely mobile (and can throw across his body accurately). But in terms of raw arm strength, there probably isn't that much of a difference between Purdy and Brosmer.

Small college wiz Tyson Bagent wasn't drafted, but he's backing up Caleb Williams in Chicago and started some games last year. And lest we forget, Trace McSorely actually drew an NFL paycheck for parts of four seasons. Sometimes lightning strikes.

At risk of understatement, pre-draft workouts will be huge for Brosmer. Curious if he gets an invite to one of the lesser All-Star games. He barely ran the ball for the Gophers this year and if my memory is serving correctly, never by design. I don't know if that affects any assessment of him because I don't scout players for any NFL team (and fans of all NFL teams are glad that I am not scouting for their team).

If he has a good show in bowl game and from what I have seen with recent draft picks… he can go 2nd/3rd round and develop in the right program. Reminds me of Cousins.
