Hello again, guys.

I would appreciate if you could help me out as myself and a friend would like to attend the game in Minneapolis this weekend and would like to experience the student section.

Do you still need to show a Minnesota Student ID to sit in the student section like you did in 2009? I had heard that the rule had been changed so that you only needed a student ticket/voucher to get in but anybody could choose to sit there like most other schools, but I just want to make 100% sure.

Is this true? I would really appreciate your help, Gopher fans!

Thank you!

Yes you do. It's really strict.

Don't even bother driving.

Security points you out and you are beaten to a pulp by everyone around you. Hopefully.

Yes, anyone can sit in the student section once you get through the gates.

I heard that they will have snipers stationed to pick out anyone with a red shirt seated in the student section. These snipers are ordered to shoot to kill. That's just what I heard.

Now, now, that's a slight overreaction. But if there is a badger fan sitting in the student section, and you just can't finish your soda, and don't know what to do with it, well, now you have a place to accidentally dump it. The same thing goes if, purely by chance, you overloaded your hot dog with relish and mustard. You've finished the hot dog, and there is all this extra junk on the wrapper. What to do with it? It would be a shame if you accidentally spilled it on a badger fan.

Or if you have a piece of pizza that you're having a hard time coralling, take it over to the badger fan and it'll jump onto his face.

This happened a couple of years ago at a basketball game to a couple of hapless Badger fans who made the mistake of sitting in the Barnyard.

Ah, the ChemEGopher incident. Classic.

Hey students if any Badgers try sitting in your section - let um have it till they cry!

These are odd post considering the U sold a large number of Badger fans tickets IN the student section

Yes, they screen those tickets really closely.

If you are planning on risking it and you are driving in, I would suggest taking 94 to about the Dale Exit. Now that the Central Corridor is finished on Univerisity, it's really an easy little drive down University from Dale to Campus. It's really calming.

When you get to campus, i'd just park in front a meter, they don't ever check those things, so don't bother paying for them and I think the best place to stay is either, there is a Super 8 in Frogtown that's really nice or a Best Western in the Robbinsdale/Minneapolis area. They both have a really good continental breakfast.

If you are planning on enjoying the nightlife, there is a really nice bar off of 94 called BJs, it's just a nice place to kick back and have a good night. If not, if you'd rather get downtown, there is a new bar opened up called the Saloon, I think you'll enjoy it.

Have fun!
