Do we stay in the top 10?

CFP was:

1. LSU
2. OSU
3. Clemson

Those three are set this week. Could be a swap but doubtful. I'd put OSU #1, but no biggie right now.

4: Georgia
5: Alabama
6: Oregon
7: Utah

GA was not impressive. Alabama played a high school team. Oregon lost and should drop to about #14. Utah is winning.

8: Penn ST
9: Oklahoma
10. Minnesota

Not sure how much stuff factors in, but PSU losing but not getting blown out by OSU makes our game with them respectable. Makes it appear we could be in the same caliber as an OSU should we meet them.

We'll leapfrog PSU, whether OU stays ahead of us or not is questionable. If we had played a decent team today, it would be easier to move us up, but I would guess we stay below them and would pass them if we beat WI next week regardless of what OU does against OK State.

Utah is playing Arizona. Not going to be impressive no matter what. No top 10 teams had great wins this week.
I suspect Oregon and PSU drop below us. We could maybe slide up past Oklahoma, but I doubt they do to keep Big 12 interest high.

PAC12 now needs Utah to move up to #6 or #4 or #5 just so if they lose to Oregon, Oregon then has a top 5 win from the Pac12 Championship. So my guess is if anything odd happens it's Utah moving up to far for no reason.

I think Utah moves up - their lone loss was to a USC team that will finish the conference season in the top 20. If they beat Oregon in the championship, they will get 1 of the playoff spots. The big discussion will come down to Bama - assuming LSU wins out. There will still be people trying to move them into the top 4 - but their lone quality win will be Auburn - which will be around #20 assuming they lose to Bama. I would like to hear a coherent argument why Bama would deserve a spot over Oklahoma or Utah - assuming they win out.

I would go far as to say if Minnesota beats OSU, the B1G should have 2 teams in the playoffs before Bama deserves to go.

We will move up 2 spots to fill the void by Oregon and PSU losing. No way we leapfrog anyone else.

It would be nice if we given serious consideration to move up past OU or Utah, but I just don't see why the committee has any incentive not to simply just slide the teams up, as is.

utah is not getting in until one of the top 4 loses and even then they’re still not getting in.

FWIW - sp+ updated after this weekend's games: (B1G teams only)
1. OSU
7. PSU
10. Mich
12. Wisc
14. Gophers

Food for thought...Gophs move up two in Coaches Poll to #9.

I think Gophs move up to #8 or quite possibly #7 in CFP. OU did not look good at home just getting by a sub .500 TCU, and I feel they have been overrated in CFP rankings.

My prediction:
1) LSU
2) Ohio State
3) Clemson
4) Georgia
5) Alabama
6) Utah
7) Oklahoma
8) Minnesota

#9 in the AP. A bit surprised given Oregon's loss. Was thinking #8, just above Florida. Just doesn't matter, a loss next week drops us out of the top 10 and likely out of the NY6 discussion. So just win.

Gophs were below Fla last week on AP. Will likely be #8 or #7 in CFP on Tuesday, so don't agree a Gophs loss means no NY6 bowl.
