Let's make 10 threads each for people's preferred coaching candidates and speculation on the timing of, and enumeration of the reasons for, the Brewster firing. Because we all know that it would be impossible to combine these into 3 threads or fewer.

Seriously. What is this, amateur hour?

In the past, people have said they prefer separate threads about different candidates or flow of conversation tends to shift as well. If there is a strong bias towards one or two coaching threads we can certainly look at that option.

You're right, I'm against all these new threads about coaching prospects but I am pro threads complaining about them!

Most threads quickly devolve into two or three guys trading insults with each other, and I lose hope that anything interesting will be posted after that. I'd rather read someone's new take on a new thread than to go back to a three page thread to see if anything interesting has been added. If someone has a new name for a coaching candidate, what's the value of it being lost on the fourth page of an old thread? Are we better off with just 5-6 threads that are ten pages long?

Maybe the staff can set up a filter that immediately moves a thread to the new "Delusional/insane coaching candidate board"? Keywords would include:

Dungy
Bohl
McCarney
Mike Grant
Mike Leach
Harbaugh
Holtz

To name just a few. This would cut down on the clutter immensely.

How about making a sticky thread for each coach candidate? If you get X number of posters who want that candidate, the thread gets stickied.

Who cares how many threads there are? Just let the fans talk how they wanna talk.

Well.... I think that I am crossing you off my list of candidates for the job.... :banghead:

yeah, I don't really buy the "wasting time sorting through..." talk, after all we are surfing the internet and reading/posting about our favorite CFB team. I think we do it because we have the time to kill.

I think we need a "Killing Time" smilie.

I can't believe you would say that; what an a-hole.;)

Exactly. This is the only reason that I agree there should be seperate threads on coaching candidates.

Why do you hate Freedom? :p

Once we start combining threads, the terrorists win!

"And dying in your beds, many years from now, would you be willin' to trade ALL the days, from this day to that, for one chance, just one chance, to come back here and tell our enemies that they may take our multiple threads on the same topic, but they'll never take... OUR FREEDOM!" ;)

What you guys should have done was start multiple threads bitching about redundant threads.

And sorry to the mods. I know it's not your fault that people don't look around before starting a new thread. It's just gotten ridiculous.

Honest question: how often is GopherHole cleaned up in terms of dormant threads, accounts, etc?

It can be annoying, but its seriously not the end of the world.
