I'm disgusted by the following:

-That we have not had the Axe in 11 years. That is a buzz kill for our fans and inexusable by Mason, Brewster and Kill.
-That our 2:00 minute drill consistently sucks and today did so in a way that that completely quashed our momentum and was the turning point in the game.
-That our DBs couldn't rise to the occassion. Erickson is an average WR and he was made to be an All American today. What a killer.....
-That our pass rush sucked so bad we made Stave look like an all conference type player. Unbelievable.
-That our D could stop Gordon but let down and let Clement gash us. Lack of discipline.
-That we really have folks on here who think that Leidner can be our guy. He sucked huge a$$ again today and I feel bad for the rest of our team to try and play through our terrible QB play and overall for them to hang in their today and to win some of the other games is a huge credit to them with a very below average QB in charge.
-Jerry and his staff got worked over by a Utah State staff. Other than the first quarter, the opponent was better coached and called the better game and we got worked on the coaching end of the house today. That was disappointing.

47 years since we've won the conference and we pissed this year down our leg: coaching, O and D all had some responsibility today sucked to be a Gopher's fan.

47 years since a league title, and you're huddling with the clock running and less than a minute left in the half, happy as a clam to be up by 7. I'm sick and tired of being happy to be the little engine that could. What happens if we're aggressive in that situation and it blows up in our face? No worse than it turned out. Maybe you lose the game? Well, they lost the game and looked passive doing it. I'd rather go out in a blaze of glory.

or an Utah State staff worked over a Northern Illinois staff?

This. What did sconnie do when they got the ball?

by that "logic" Jerry is an NIU staff

Amazing that we were up at halftime….our team rocks. We were playing for the championship after the mess Brewster left us in. We were in this game to the last five minutes. What an awesome season. How can anyone be negative after that season…we have the pig, the jug and a 2-game win streak against Nebraska. I salute the entire team and the entire staff for what was an awesome year. I can't wait for the bowl game.

Quit whining and start celebrating how far we have come….

Typical Minnesota loser attitude. I'll feel that way in a few weeks. For now, any person with a competitive nature is disappointed to lose.

You can celebrate the season after the season is over. We just squandered away an 11 straight loss to our rival. How can you be happy?

Pretty darn good season.

Shouldn't dwell on this one.

Wisconsin deserved to win.

We can't claim to be one of the best two teams in the conference--nor are we the best team in the division.

Exactly! Moral victory crowd is out in full for force tonight.

You hit the nail on the head with a lot your points. There's no guarantee the Gophers will be in this type of position next year or in the next five years. I don't question the effort at all, but the mindset and strategy.

Athletes win games. We work hard and are starting to catch up with the Athletes, but ultimately we still need to get more athletic at certain positions, and 1 key position (QB). When ML has good games, the scheme usually creates it. When the Read-Option wasnt there today, he couldnt make up for it in any way. That's on us. Now we move on and hopefully don't get hosed on the bowl like we always seem to do. To take the next step, we also have to travel well to the bowl and win. Showing up gets a team noticed

All the sniveling and whining on this board is audible in Madison. Geez, can you not lose without tearing out your hair and throwing your own team under the bus? Ugly.

you can't put the last 11 years on this team and this staff, that's unfair.

in the fourth year of a long rebuilding process, the gophers went into camp randall and played a competitive ballgame. of course the gophers weren't slinging the ball around at the end of the half, that's not bret favre in the backfield. a field goal off a fumble late in half is better than seven on a pick six.

i am neither disgusted nor disappointed. the gophers lost a game to a better opponent in at their field. i am not happy, but wisconsin is a good football team. the state is one of the five worst in the nation, but the football team is very solid. as the announcers said at the beginning of the game, this is a rebuilding process. kill knows it, teague knows it, and kalher knows it.

We were up by two touchdowns and should have been up by more. Your opinion is that of a loser and a good reason why we haven't won the conference in 47 years.

F$ck off. Once Gordon is gone we'll see how how the Badgers do going forward. Today should have been the start of a long run of Gopher's dominance and it sucks that we have to wait anothe year.

Did you not see Corey Clement? Not that we won't beat them next year, in fact I think we will be favored with it being at home, but he will be at least a 1,400-1,500 yard rusher next year i bet. They will still be able to run the ball just as well.

I understand the punch in the gut feeling this game left us with, and our weaknesses are obvious. On the other hand, I also know that we finish the conference games with a 5-3 record good enough for 3rd place, tied with a team we beat.

edit: the deleted was a facetious and humorous attempt to lighten the situation.

i'm sorry my comments seemed to offend you indi, i don't mind your comments. you are upset and i will gladly accept your apology when you settle down. i'll even buy you a beer next year when the gophers come out to fort collins (hopfully you are still a gopher fan at that time:cool: )

If we take care of business and win this game we actually would have been favored to beat OSU, how can anyone NOT be disappointed.

Who put anything on the staff

How can anyone feel happy after losing that game? We could have won that. It's been a long time since we could say that. Which is great. But we lost.

You've been proven wrong time and again this season. You simply won't let your agenda go will you?
Not a peep after Iowa, or nebraska, nothing after Limegrover and Leidner prove they can win big games, nothing when we succeed.
Now you cut and paste your BS from your complainer cheat sheet.
We lost, we will lose some games, that happens.
We made some crucial mistakes, Leidner missed some throws, play calling was vanilla.
None of that makes you right, you clearly don't get how Kill works, you clearly don't care.
This is a junior/soph/fresh heavy team that was 1 quarter from going to the B1G title game, FOR NOW that's pretty damn good.

Great season, crappy way to end it, but things will only get better and better from here under Kill. Only an idiot would see it any other way.

i'm not sure how else to read that. i'm happy in general, but i guess when a team that i root for scores less points than another team while playing ballsports i keep things in perspective. i like to read. i like to write. i like to ride my bike and have great conversations in real life. i'm not even sure why i am attempting to type words on a site where so many people are unable to keep things in perspective.

This is one of the most moronic and imbecilic comments I have ever read.

what---the truth hurt, they fumble on the ten and you dont think that is a big effing deal, could have been much worse

Fans like you help us have 47 years without a B1G title. Send Jerry and Teague a note thanking them for a great year. I'll continue to push for better; we should be better and today was a major disappointment.

This is a team that lost to Northwestern and this is the effort we put up in the biggest axe game in decades.

Yep ok!
Chuck the pigskin around! Triple reverse passes all day long!

They got a lead, ran the ball, and made Stave who's struggled all season beat them. He did, we lost, it sucks.
Kill will always try to shorten the game and take the ball out of Gordon's hands in that situation 100/100 times.

In the early '90s Wisconsin hired a coach who looked at the huge people in that state and devised a run-oriented offense behind a big, well-drilled offensive line with a stout defense. Minnesota hired a coach who looked at the Dome and decided, "defense-be-damned, we'll throw the ball all day." Wisconsin is now in the third decade and third coach with the winning system of Alvarez. We've finally hired a coach with a philosophy similar to that of Wisconsin - but he's only in his fourth year and hasn't had the play-action QBs Wisconsin has had.
