Best case: QB Mitch Leidner excels in a new up-tempo wrinkle, developing better rhythm and timing as a passer. That invigorated aerial game only makes an already potent rushing attack that much better working behind one of the Big Ten’s best lines. The best secondary in the Big Ten sets the tone for a continually underrated defense, as Minnesota wins the West and earns another bowl trip to sunny Florida.

Worst case: One of the Big Ten’s worse passing games remains grounded. Who are the big-play wideouts? TE Maxx Williams can’t be replaced. Defenses gang up to stop a rushing attack that has bid adieu to workhorse RB David Cobb. The Gopher defense misses stud MLB Damien Wilson. And a rebuilt line struggles to consistently stop the run. Still, Minnesota manages a trip to the Pinstripe or Quick Lane Bowl.

Can't disagree with this... I agree with the best case. We win the west and play valiantly against Ohio State, but ultimately stumble.

Cue the engineering majors saying our best case is "undefeated" and worst case is "zero wins".

In either scenario Minnesota propels past the Vegas O/U of 5.5 wins.

Must win the Axe! Failure is not an option.
This!!

Losing to Bucky this year is simply not an option. If it's the same scenario as last year with us and UW playing to get to Indy it will arguably be the biggest and most important Gopher football game of my lifetime(I'm 39). A chance at a BIG title and beating your #1 rival for the first time in 12 years. I can't think of a bigger home game I've attended since I started in '85.

I think Becky fans are already crapping the bed about this game. They lose at TCF they're stupid enough to fight among themselves and of course the porn sites will be jammed.

worst case and best case are holdin hands.

Best case - Natl Champions
worst case - National Champion coach JK and staff leave for TN.
