I've seen this mentioned a few times over the years but I've never found a credible source that backs it up. Does anyone know? Did Richard Morgan actually play for us?

Depends on your definitions of "play" and "credible". He mentions in his autobiography that he played on the freshman team at the U, which was also his parents' alma mater. He was there at the same time as Mike and Steve Goldberg, older brothers of Bill Goldberg, former NFL player and wrestler famous as "Goldberg".

Thanks. I had a feeling it was a loose affiliation.

He was an OG. He played freshman ball with Greg Gagne. That is where his connection for wrestling began. They quit to go to Verne's wrestling school and turn pro. I was a couple years behind him and that was what he told me. He seemed like a real good guy. Wooo!

Greg Gagne transferred to Wyoming and played quarterback there.

He then went on to play in the World Series for the Twins before converting to playing Center for the North Stars from 1987 until they moved.
I believe he retired with the Canucks in 1999.

Verne Gagne and Jack Pesek were a great tag team. They beat Hard Boiled Haggerty and Mad Dog Vachone in a tag team match.

All I gotta say is: To be the man, you gotta beat the man! Woo!!
