Driving home from work last night about 11:20pm Eric Nelson on WCCO radio played a taped interview with Brewster that was recorded at the Gopher Pro Day workouts. One of the questions Nelson led with was the difficult home schedule the Gophers play for 2010. Brewster mentioned that the Ohio State game would be played in "prime time." The definition of prime time is up for debate but we can assume it would not be an 11:00am kickoff. Other Big 10 games that day include:

Purdue @ Illinois
Northwestern @ Indiana
Michigan State @ Iowa
Michigan @ Penn State

My guess is that the Big Ten Network has made the Gopher - Buckeye game their choice for an evening kickoff so we would be looking at a 6pm or 7pm kickoff.

This is great news. The more people see TCF Bank Stadium televised in prime time the better. Hopefully, this will be a battle of two ranked teams with Ohio State #1 and undefeated and Minnesota say--#18 at an impressive 7-1?

I can dream, can't I?

I would caution against dreaming....

it will just get you beat up around here! LOL

it is the night before Halloween....and I'm sure they remember how good a Halloween prime time game it was last year....so that helps.

New B10 Halloween tradition anyone?

They certainly got their money's worth last time.

i betting that game get on espn or espn2 or ABC.

Is anyone else hoping for absolutely God-awfully frigid temperatures in home games??

I realize that Columbus gets cold too, but it would be nice if our outdoor weather played into some kind of intimidation factor.

Could help level the playing field for games like this.

Frigid temperatures? No thanks, I want recruits and the National Media to LIKE Minnesota and TCF, not spend all night bitching about it. Every year the Big-10/Brewster find a way to get a prime time, home game against a good opponent that Brew uses as his key recruiting weekend, this season it has to be OSU or PSU.

I wouldn't take anything Brewster says too seriously.

Who knows what his definition of Prime time is

The BTN's strategy usually seems to involve featuring non-Big Ten teams from the Big Ten Network coverage area in prime time. For that reason, I can imagine the Northern Illinois game at 6 or 7 too.

I am hoping the Big Ten picks the Penn State game for the night game instead of Ohio State. I really hope it doesn't become a "tradition" to play a night game on Halloween weekend. It's great for TV, but it sucks for attendance.

From the Tim Brewster Dictionary...

Prime Time (n):
-1. A tremendous time of day to get one's chili hot
-2. An outstanding time for one to get some, but only if that person is to bring some as well
-3. A very, very late part of the afternoon to early evening when one couldn't be more pleased
