Just curious if anyone else noticed Trevor and Rodney cutting loose with the primal scream towards the Illinois student section after they dunked last night? I'm not sure if Coleman was or not but I thought it showed tremendous attitude and not in a bad way. Though it may have been a bit showy.

Thoughts on if it was appropriate?

I get really tired of it. Get back on D. Maybe I'm getting old.....oh yeah, I already am.

The last few years we ripped Ralph for never cutting loose with the primal scream. Now we're critical of those who do.

Next year we can be critical of those that cut loose with primal screams half the time.

Go Gophers!!

Ya your old, the screams build on court energy and it pisses off your opponent

I didn't notice it, as they do it all the time. I don't care what they do, as long as they keep winning.

I love the screaming! It sucks energy out of the crowd

I love seeing some life and energy out of the team and players. I would rather watch that than seeing sad, droopy, lifeless Ralph Sampson III run up and down the floor. Plus, they are winning and winning big, so who cares?

I'm all for the screams, but I think they need to cut out the kicking their legs up in the air when they are hanging on the rim.

The beast mode screams are great...pumps up the team and gives the team some edginess.

Plus the road team is probably riding the guys all game long, so the beast mode screams are a polite way of saying f u to to the crowd!

Go Gophers!

How can you not Love the scream after a big play gets the players and the crowd into I'm all for them getting back on defense to but I really don't see them not getting back on defense after the scream. Gotta love it espically at home it gets me into the game when he does it!

Trevor has been doing it since he first began playing as a Gopher. I don't recall Rodney doing it as much but did notice it on at least one occasion for him last night. I guess I haven't thought about it being good or bad, becasue they certainly aren't the first two players to do it. It is pretty common. In fact, I find it much less annoying than watching pretty much any women's pro tennis match, which sounds like a bad porno (if there is such a thing as a bad porno).

Someone should get a collection of Trevor's dunk yells and create a youtube replaying them every other time with a Sharipova tennis grunt.

I think Williams was just frustrated with the physicality that was being let go on him it seemed. I recall a few frustrated discussions with the refs at least early on, so that's probably part of the aggression he was letting out on those dunks. He doesn't always do it, but he definitely does it on occasion, especially when trying to fire up the squad.

Mbakwe, yeah, he just does it all the time, doesn't really matter where or when.

AAAaaaaAAAAARrRRRRRrrrrrrGGGGGGgggggggHHHHHHHH!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!

I think Tubby's mustache would have gotten in the act if it could have.

Good answer. The crowd is screaming the whole game, so why not scream back a little.

Not expecting anyone to take action, but I believe there's an entire web site devoted to William Shatner's "hair."

I'm fine with a scream as long as it is spontaneous. Running in front of the student section and then screaming is probably a bit much. The last thing a team on the road needs is a cheap technical call to stall the momentum gained by the dunk.

How long until someone writes a Letter to the Editor about the "unnecessary screaming" that the STrib would inevitably publish?

Trevor does it after every single play since he started playing here. He also looks for the camera after every dunk or blocked shot. Whatever keep him engaged and fired up works for me. It's not my style, but it absolutely works for him!

Rodney and Trevor both yell "And 1!" almost every time they make a layup in traffic too.

My question is how could anyone NOT notice the screams after pretty much every single made basket by Mbakwe (and a lot of his misses, too) in his entire Gophers career?

who wants someone that lays there and is quiet? screamers are more fun.
