Isn't this guy absolutely awful, according the like 3/4 of the people around here?

Another quality post Bulldog. I'm yet to find anyone on here that thinks DC26 is awful. However, I know of some on here that apparently think if someone doesn't believe a player is flawless then they must think he sucks. No middle ground, right? No room for improvement, right? You are either awesome or absolutely awful, right? You are a treat.

Please

There are many on here and GI for that matter that think much less than "[not] flawless" of Campbell. Some have called him the biggest underachiever on the team and others believe (or hope) that he won't even be a starter by midseason. Bulldog's hyperbole was absolutely appropriate.

Gotta admit I was excited about this kid UNTIL I learned that he can't move laterally without falling over and that his head is stuck looking straight ahead. Now I am not so excited and doubting why Kill would recruit a guy like this?

Is the above quote of yours regarding Coughlin that much different than what Bulldog said in this thread?

Ummm- think Spoofin was being sarcastic there.

Anyone know if Damien Wilson was named to this list as well? I am assuming he was.

Raise your hand if Campbell's play last year makes you feel he is the top linebacker in the FBS. OTOH, Murray or BBC could be in that conversation for best college player at their position, especially if they take another step forward this year.

Taking a realistic assessment of Campbell's progression to date isn't being overly negative. In fact, many of us feel he has the capability to be very, very good but the wheels aren't quite turning in unison yet. I'd be happier than a fat girl in line at McDonald's if he makes the final cut for this award.

I don't know if anybody in the entire conference is considered to be the top LB in the FBS for next year. I do know for a fact that Claeys feels he is as good of an LB "as there is in the Big Ten."

I'd say they have turned enough for him to be the leading returning tackler on the team.

Die hard, nobody is saying he's terrible. The question at hand is if he's the best LB in america. Ridiculing anyone with a conflicting answer, as you frequently do, isnt helpful or constructive. Physically imposing, but the answer is currently *no*, sorry.

He is a good LB with a lot of tackles, but we are run on a fair amount so there are tackles to be had. I'd like to see some more anticipation and aggressiveness out of him rather than frequently riding the ball carrier down from behind for a few extra yards. Frankly I don't know if we would see much drop if Celestin came in. Campbell has a higher ceiling and I hope he hits it.

Does anyone know if he's expected to play weak or strong side this season?

He can't tackle.

He can't play downhill.

He can play sideline to sideline.

He's just not a football player....yet.

Very much hoping the light turns on for him.

Damien's improvement from junior to senior year was phenomenal---although a lot of that, I think, was attributable to the weight loss.

It's best to just ignore everything Studwell posts.

Agreed. I'm not sure how he ever got a reputation of being knowledgeable about football. I have yet to see any level of sophistication in his football posts beyond that of the average 8th grader. I'm sure he's an expert in whatever field of academia he studies - he should probably stick to that.

Well....when seasoned analysts, former players, coaches etc can't agree on player evals at any level, I think it's ok for gopherholers to disagree and give legitimate opinions. We can't all be Jshowers. The personal insults say more about you than Studwell.

Who said that anyone can't disagree and give legitimate opinions?
