De'Vondre Campbell is a Gopher

De'Vondre Campbell is a Gopher-Suprise Suprise

Well this was a nice last minute suprise! Really starting to like this class.

Zowie. Congrats to Kill on landing this kid. Seems to have the athletic ability to be a game changer on defense.

About the only thing Brewster ever said that continues to be worth subscribing to is that the recruiting war isn't over until the pen hits the paper. Kill is like a rat terrier going after a rat in a corn crib (For you younger and/or non-rural readers, you really have to see it to believe it. Let's just say naked animal aggressiveness.). Kudos to him for staying on these guys like Jones and Campbell. The class is shaping up nicely.

This kid is an absolute beast athletically. He was one of the fastest 100 meter runners in Florida in high school. I wonder if he ever really did commit to KSU, there were conflicting reports at the time it was reported.

Super props to Coach Kill. I'm very glad to be wrong about there being no surprises. I was not at all expecting this.

The fact they had a recruiting video ready to be released tells me the coaches either knew it was coming or at least had a decent chance.

Sounds like the staff expected this:

Comment From Misplaced Gopher
Do you ever try to orchestrate a last-minute recruiting surprise, or do those surprises happen on their own? For instance, do you ever get a verbal but keep it under your hat until NSD?

"Yes we do. A great example is De'Vondre Campbell. We had a great feeling he was going to sign with us, but did not want it to get out t the media so he would not get pressure from other schools."

Awesome. LB was shaping up to be one of our weak points next year. Hopefully Campbell plays up to the level of his recruitment. Huge position signing here.

6'5" tall, I bet he moves to DE. I know LB is a need, but great DEs make a difference!

6'5" 225 pounds and runs a 4.49. Heck lets put this kid at RB too!

Looks like he received offers from KSU, Tennesse, and Texas. Impressive.
