De'Vondre Campbell gets PAID!!!

Packers re-sign De'Vondre for 5 years, $50 million. Is that the largest NFL contract ever signed by a former Gopher? Congrats to a man who went from a fourth round pick to a 1st team All-Pro who now has generational wealth.

How much of the 50 million is in crypto lol

Eric Murray is currently the highest paid former Gopher, with career earnings around 18 million. Campbell is second right now at ~13 million, but if he plays out the entire contract, he will easily be the highest paid Gopher ever.

Should be set for life if he doesn't have a following of guys numbering 15 or so and spending foolishly like some guys have done.

The first three years stated in the article linked add up to $70 million, or am I missing something?

The deal is worth $50 million over five years. Campbell gets $16.25 million in year one, $21.5 million in the first two years and $32.25 million in the first three years. These are cumulative numbers over 1, 2 and 3 years, not his annual payouts.

Are you saying the form I filled out to join his crew is fraudulent?!?!?

Says $21.5 million in year two...from the article: He will get $16.25 million in Year 1, $21.5 million in Year 2 and $32.25 million by Year 3. Something is clearly off in the article...SI has it the same way.

It came with a $15 million signing bonus. While it's spread over three seasons for cap purposes, he gets that Year 1.

Year 1 - $15 million signing bonus + $1.25 million in "salary" ($16.25 million)
Year 2 - $5.25 million in "salary"
Year 3 - $10.75 million in "salary"

Sucks that it is the Packers but awesome to see him getting paid some big money in the later point of his career.

You apparently don’t know who Eric decker is. He made $29 million

Actually Decker at $29 million would still be the leader in actual earnings.
Campbell has made $12, 849,787 in his career. Only the $15,000,000 signing bonus is guaranteed for Campbell on the new deal.
Details

Couple other Gophers ... Bateman signed for 12 million and Winfield for 7 million.
Hopefully, we add Boye and Daniel to the discussion in April.

Marion Barber III made $16M guaranteed during his Cowboys deal (7y/$45M), plus some money from his rookie deal and last contract with the Bears. He played out 3 full seasons of his big Dallas contract. He probably grossed in the $25-40M range over his career, depending on the details of his Cowboys deal.

How much did Maroney make? He didn't have a great career but as a first rounder he must have had a decent rookie deal. Seems like Matt Spaeth and Ben Utecht had pretty decent careers too, as did Rhys Lloyd.

Spaeth - 10.4 million
Maroney - just under 9 million
Utecht - 7.5 million
Lloyd only signed one 2 year contract for 800k, not sure how much of that he took home

Wow, guess I really overestimated how long Rhys was in the NFL.

I'd like to think that with De'Vondre's huge deal + Rashod's first round contract + what should be a lucrative second contract for Antoine (in Tampa or elsewhere) + potential first round contracts for Boye and/or Daniel, Gopher ballers are starting to get their bags, and that will be something the coaching staff should point to in recruiting. Hopefully Louie and the fundraising arm have their information for donations!

You wonder if he has a dime now. Sad.

Our overall profile in the NFL seems to be on the upswing. Hopefully that trend continues. Can only help in recruiting to see guys from the U having success in the NFL.

Thanks for the clarification. I wasn't finding any other contract details out there.

Congrats to Campbell! I hope he goes to the HOF while the Pack lose every game! Seems unlikely to play out that way but one can dream.
