Describe the loss to Penn St in 1 sentence

What is a hold?
Not why we lost, but when Joyner got dragged to the ground. They missed some against us as well.

Team gave elite effort, but seniors left heartbroken.

Question. Was the ball that far out of bounds? I couldn't tell from my seat.
From my seat it looked far out of bounds. I feel like "uncatchable ball" on pass interference is one of the most inconsistently officiated concepts in all of sports.

Even if the call was BS, there's no rule that says we have to give up a big play on the next snap. That 15 yards was frustrating because I thought the flag should have been picked up, but it was more frustrating how easily PSU drove the field on that possession.

I don't mind losing when it's to a good team and both teams left it all on the field.

It was multiple yards OB and wasn’t a penalty either way so a double whammy move. The stripes were bad both ways but that coupled with the multiple misses on Joyner were particularly bad. Tough part of You’ve gotta call it live and even both ways. But there were 3 total penalties (2 offsides on PSU and then call) that make the ones you do call stand out more. Very different game if we roll into half time up 7 and getting the ball

Disagree. We completed some really tough passes because of Brosmer. I don’t know how often you can keep testing your luck.
I think the reasoning folks are saying we weren't aggressive enough is entirely due to the goalline sequence in the fourth.
Even in that instance, it really comes down to the fourth down call. Rather than calling the previous three plays "passive," I'd just say they were ineffective play calls.

All that said, yea I would have taken a shot even with 4th and 8 due to the stakes, and how well our D had been playing.

Thanks!

Yes I noticed several missed calls that would have gone for and against us. The refs weren't always elite.

Encouraging performance but a disappointing result for a fanbase that has seen far too many losses in their lifetimes.
