Has he played at all this year? is he hurt? seems like he might have gotten buried on the DC.

I only watched the Jets game, but he was out there on numerous plays as the slot receiver, as a deep man on kick returns, and as a defender on kickoffs. I don't think he's had a touch yet this year though. Seems Orton is pretty attached to Royal/Gaffney/Thomas.

Maybe he's focusing on his modeling career, he had a 6-page spread in this months GQ.

So, you people are saying he isn't doing so well without...

Weber there to get the ball to him!!!!!!!!!

And, you are saying that Orton locks in on a couple of receivers and doesn't check down to hisw fourth and fifth options?

Just goes to show that a receiver is pretty much nothing without a qb who can get him the ball...

Some Gopher fans should lighten up on the qb for the Gophers who helped Decker break some receiving records at the U of M.

During the brewball crap era, the two offensive players that have been worth watching are Decker...AND...Weber!

Mr. Decker needs to get his qb in Denver to start looking for him and getting him the ball. It ALL has to be the fault of the qb you know!!!!!!!!!!

The difference, of course, is that Orton has won 57% of the NFL games he's started in his career. He deserves the benefit of the doubt that he knows what he's doing by not getting Decker more involved in the offense.

Meanwhile, Mr. Stats Accumulator is on his way to recording the most losses in the history of the NCAA as a starting QB.

Good job equating Adam Weber with Kyle Orton, though. That argument has a lot of credibility.

Decker and McKnight have made careers out of catching Weber's passes that are too high for the average college receiver.

It's not that Orton isn't targeting Decker, he just isn't getting on the field. They are pretty deep at wide receiver.

Another "next level" lesson. The MN staff was purposeful in getting Decker stats last year, and purposeful in getting Weber stats this year. Lesson: Creating college statistical heroes doesn't mean squat in the NFL. Demerius Thomas is the rookie WR star in Denver.

Disagree, Decker got stats last year for two reasons. 1) Weber focused on him almost solely as a receiving target. 2) Jed Fisch had an NFL frame of mind which focused more on creating mismatches for your better players and then exploiting them. This is particularly true of receivers that can play in the slot.

If the staff was focused on getting Weber stats this year they wouldn't be as committed to running the ball heavily in the first halves of games. They wouldn't run nearly as many plays that go against the statistics for 2nd and 3rd and long in the first half and third quarter.
