Decker could sign with Twins AND play Gopher football

The way I read this, if the NFL doesn't work out for him, then he'll try the Twins??

Sounds like an excellent plan for both parties involved. Gives the Twins his rights indefinitely and still allows him to take a shot at the NFL if that is where he wants to end up. He can also forgo the NFL if injuries become a concern for him in the future. Their is no real reason not to sign a contract that allows you to do what you want and still have the opportunity to get in the farm system of your states team. The downside maybe that any bonus will be put off til he actually suits up in the minor leagues but for him the real money will be in the NFL.
