Dribbles & Scribbles
-- The past 21 national champions and 35 of the last 36 all were ranked in the in the top 12 in their respective season's Week 6 Associated Press poll. So, if you're looking for the team that will be cutting down the nets and watching One Shining Moment on Championship Monday, look no further than these 12:

Alabama, Arizona, BYU, Duke, Gonzaga, Houston, Iowa State, Louisville, Michigan, Michigan State, Purdue, UConn

-- With UC-Irvine defeating Norfolk State for the Don Haskins Sun Bowl Invitational title, the last of 25 bracketed in-season tournaments now are complete. The Big Ten led the way with five championships: Iowa, Michigan, Nebraska, Purdue, and USC. The Big XII (BYU, Colorado, TCU) and Big West (UC-Irvine, UC-San Diego, UCSB) won three apiece.

The ACC (Clemson, Stanford), Missouri Valley (Belmont, Illinois State), and SEC (LSU, Vanderbilt) each grabbed two championships, while the eight remaining titles were won by the American (Tulsa), Atlantic 10 (George Mason), Big East (Villanova), Big South (High Point), Ivy (Yale), Mountain West (Utah State), Sun Belt (Southern Miss), and WCC (Pacific).

It will be interesting to see how many more Multi-Team Events (MTE) go by the wayside next season due to the Players Era Festival's expansion from 18 to 32 teams. Non-conference scheduling for low-major leagues like the Summit League will become even more difficult.

Deep Thoughts, by Buzz Studley
Indiana probably will do enough to make the NCAA Tournament, but the Hoosiers have all the makings of a one-and-done trip.
