-- RIP, Yvette Haskins, the gem of a person behind Clem the Gem. Condolences to Clem, his family, and all the Gophers and Western Kentucky players that were blessed to know the Haskins and play for Clem. It's way past time the University of Minnesota welcome back Clem (officially) and thank him, before it's too late. Time heals all wounds.
-- Based on my current Field of 68 projection, St. Thomas roughly would be the best of the #15 seeds in the bracket. The other #15 seeds (in order) would be Hawaii (Big West), Siena (MAAC), and Colgate (Patriot).
-- The Vanderbilt-Memphis game last night has to be the yuckiest basketball game I'll watch all season. The undefeated Commodores held on despite Memphis turning the game into an undisciplined, eyesore of a rugby scrum. The Tigers do play hard but aren't skilled and have zero concept of how to play smart basketball. Dumb play after dumb play after dumb play.
-- There have been exactly 500 non-conference games played pitting a Power 5 team (+ Gonzaga) vs. a non-Power 5 opponent. The Power 5 has won 93.4% (467 of the 500) of those games, including all 44 meetings vs. the SWAC.
-- A handful I'm buying: Arizona, Boise State, Michigan, Saint Louis, Tulsa.
-- A handful I'm "wait & see": Miami-Ohio, NC State, San Diego State, Texas Tech, USC.

As much as Mick Cronin annoys me with his constant whining, I’d bet his UCLA squad will be a major pain in the (butt) to play come tournament time.
