Dribbles & Scribbles
-- It was a productive day for the SEC on Saturday, winning 6 of 7 games vs. the Power 5/Gonzaga. Most notable were wins by Arizona over Alabama, Arkansas over Texas Tech, Oklahoma over previously undefeated Oklahoma State, and Kansas over NC State in Raleigh. It must have meant more yesterday.
-- Yesterday's road wins by St. Thomas (UNC-Asheville) and North Dakota State (Drake) solidify the Tommies and Bison as the favorites for the Summit League regular season crown. UST and NDSU meet Jan. 17 in Fargo and Feb. 26 in Saint Paul.
-- Miles Barnstable (Tulsa). Kendall Blue (Nebraska). Andrew Rohde (Wisconsin). Will these former standout St. Thomas guards all end up in the NCAA Tournament? And be joined in the dance by their former school? It's certainly seeming possible.
-- The fine print. ... State of Minnesota NET rankings through Dec. 13:
#119 St. Thomas
#143 Minnesota
-- Sunday's "bubble" impact matchup: #44 Boise State Broncos vs. #17 Saint Mary's Gaels in Idaho Falls, ID. The Broncos (6-2 vs. D1) have been playing good basketball since a stunning loss to non-D1 Hawaii Pacific in their season opener, but they really need this one to help cover the stench of that loss. Would be another nice "W" following a 77-68 win @ Butler.

Indiana football is 12-0.
Nebraska basketball is 11-0 and holds the nation's longest winning streak (15).
Which one’s the football school and which one’s the basketball school?
It’s a brave new world in the Wild Wild West of major college athletics.
