Deadspin takes aim at Myron: ESPN Hoops Writer Makes Terrible "Bold Predictions"

Hat tip to DZ for forwarding me this article from Deadspin today:

Last Wednesday, ESPN college basketball writer Myron Medcalf made "10 Bold Predictions" for the upcoming Sweet Sixteen and Elite Eight. Now that the dust has settled, it's clear that Medcalf's predictions were indeed very bold, and also very wrong. Let's go through them one by one:

Go Gophers!!

Haha, I remember him just swinging and missing last year too on a similar article. Great picture.

Good stuff. As typical, Myron's picks are way off.

I want to know how Myron got the ESPN job. Seriously. I have no doubt that there are a dozen or more journalism students at the U who could do a better job than him, right now.

Marcus would have been a much, much better choice if you were going to hire a twin cities/regional guy.

They tried to hire Sid, but Sid said PARDON ME?........so they moved on.

Predictions for the tournament are a complete crapshoot and about 500 writers nationally wrote the same 'predictions for the Sweet 16' piece. He was way off but so what? Most people's brackets were destroyed after the first Saturday

It's about who you know. Anybody can put words on a page. Journalism is all about connections especially with the declining number of jobs.

it has something to do with the quota system

Doogie couldn't have been much better. During the B1G tourney he proclaimed Aaron Craft will be playing in the NBA next year. I about spit my OJ out.

ESPN College Hoops Writer (Myron) Makes Terrible "Bold Predictions"

I know how you all like to rip on Myron, so I thought I'd share this. He made Deadspin. I told him that this means he's really "made it", lol!

I don't know. Marcus has spent the last 4 days saying how the Big 12 was better than the Big 10.

He didn't claim it was 2 better, did he?
