Saw posted today on another forum that Sam Rohr and a OL out of Florida De-committed today?!? any truth to that?

I could tell from rivals there is 2 de-commits, but don't have membership so I don't know who it is. If it is those two, it could be worse. If it was a lineman from Florida, it would have to be Haughton-James.

I was looking at the Scout board today and Rohr moved up to a 3-star from a 2-star. I wondered if he'd stick with the commitment, because Kill's TEs tend to be bigger and less involved in the passing game than a pro-set TE.

If Haughton-James de-commits, does Bjorklund get an offer?

Rohr is gone because we only need 1 h-back per class. Haughton-James didn't fit in kill's style line and he didn't have the grades. 2 players that were expendable.

Strange because Rohr seemed pretty excited in some interviews, not long ago. I wonder if he was "forced out" in any way.

I think it is because they determined Westerhaus will be the H-Back of the future, and they have lined up a LB that we don't know about yet. Kill has been playing his cards very close to himself. H-James said he was basically forced out, so I think Rohr was the same way.

Its crazy how Kill is doing this. I know he has had more time than Brewster did when hired, but Kill seems to methodical in recruiting. Brewster seemed to just throw schollies like grenades that first year. If you could run fast and read, you got a schollie.

Haughton-James and Rohr are gone per rivals. We should put a full court press on Tyler Marz to reconsider. I still am not overly-sold on Bjorklund.

Consider that Marz's parents are both Wisconsin graduates.

Brewster was not hired until the middle of January. He had 1 week maximum to hire his coaching staff and 2 weeks to do all of his recruiting. Brewster's first recruiting doesn't count against him. All of the blame is on Mason, Bruininks, and Maturi.

It is pretty interesting.

I guess the Haughton-James thing makes sense, we have a lot of OL and there are still a couple more decent young OL in this area that we might be interested in.

I am a little surprised about Rohr as he seems to be a pretty good fit for what Kill likes to do. He has good size (he'll probably play at 240-245) and he could probably play H-Back or TE, and those are both positions that we are a little lean at (even if Westeraus is going to play offense).

It could just be a simple fact of different coaches looking for different things and Kill not being overly impressed with these guys. It could also be that they just lost interest, but it does appear to have a feeling of being "forced out". I don't think that sits too well for me, I really think you should honor your commitments, especially considering that these two guys have stuck by the U through all of our issues this season.

Possibly, but there may have been mutual agreement as well. It may very well be Kill told him this is the type of offense and here is my intended use of you. If that is the case, Rohr may have simply said I will keep looking for a better situation.

Absolutely. I can totally see it being a mutual parting of ways.

I guess, hypothetically, I hope that these kids weren't "forced out".

Whether or not it makes sense, I always hate to see guys "forced" out.

Yep, that was my point as well, especially on guy's who stayed committed this season.

If it was mutual, that's one thing. If they were "forced" out, I think that's a bit tacky.

Rohr went from a steal from Wisconsin to cutting him loose because he is not good enough? I love recruiting.

You mean trolling? I would've liked to have landed rohr and won't guess at the reason for his decommitting, haughton james I wasn't too attached to.

Also, Kill was actively recruiting all year, whereas Brewster came in from the pro game, so didn't have the the background for the the kids available that year.

No time, no background, you do what you can. Comparing Brewster's "first" class to Kill's isn't fair to Brewster.

Why are you here? Honestly, how pathetic do you have to be to troll a 3-9 college football team?

You obviously are not here to actually read the threads. Almost everyone in this thread has been kind of baffled by the Rohr de-committ and against the idea of us "forcing him out".

One person questioned whether or not he fit Kill's system, but he didn't question on whether or not Rohr was any good.

The thread also evolved into one on forcing kids out in general.

He does seem pretty deliberate. Though Brew threw out schollies, at the same time the level of talent needed to be raised across the board so that it really did not matter to much.

I agree, clearly it Mase's fault that he was fired and couldn't finish his recruiting class. And that after he was fired we had a rash of de-commits.

Blame Maturi and Bruiniks, but blaming the fired coach is a joke. Just like it isn't Punky's fault how this class turns out.

It is interesting that Haughton-James no longer shows an offer and Rohr does according to rivals

Trolls only read the things that help their "cause." There could have been 50 posts saying this sucks or whatever and one post saying no big loss and he would have picked that one to respond to.

Saying "Punky" is cool.

You're cool.

Sounding like a Badger fan is cool.

I want to be just like you.

(Good job responding to any of the posts I've addressed specifically to you, by the way.)

Calling the fired coach the name that Badger fans called him is a joke.
