Is this cause for concern? Beats me.

Maybe Niko isn’t the type to fleece his old home.

Still, I know a lot of you were hoping for some CSU transfers.

Maybe they are happy with Ali.

Ali has already been announced as the head coach
 



I know CSU had a great year, but I doubt the plan was ever to raid his old roster.
 


It would be great to poach some of those guys, but if we don't, oh well. I'm not expecting Nico to come in and dominate from day one, I trust he will build a good roster and system over time.
 

I wonder if CSU included a clause in Medved's contract to prevent him from poaching players. Otherwise, the situation feels like a popularity contest between Nickle, Ali, loyalties, pay, girlfriends, mountains, lakes, attachment disorders, and the situational awareness of the players. Who knows—maybe a player even reads omens and consults talismans.

Whatever the case, it’s <checks clock> roughly 72 hours into the Medved era, and I’m certain he’s already wondering where to find a fresh pair of socks and where he’s going to live. In my nightmare scenario, he’s probably having that very conversation with his wife, making arrangements while trying to settle into the chaos of not having a roster. This is advanced humanity thrown at his feet—for a pile of money and a mountain of responsibility. I say, give the man a break.

My Spidey sense tells me we’ll see more player announcements either Friday or Monday. And my talisman cards? They hint at the arrival of a middling-capable player—a solid role player for a key spot.

I’d like him to poach. Having guys who know the system is really important and there are guys on that roster who deserve to be playing a level higher.

I don't think you have to wonder. Niko was asked the question if players would follow. He said he wanted to give them a few days to enjoy what they had done before talking about that. That means, they could follow if they so choose, in my view.
 



Medved did say in his press conference when asked about CSU players, that he wouldn't do anything involving them for several days so they could process losing the basketball game and losing their coach. of course, the players do need to enter the portal.

Patience, Dear Otis, in due time we will see movement. Would have loved to kept Rigsby but maybe conversations were had.

It seemed like the players could follow him if they wanted to. Them tabbing Ali seems to he an effort to keep as many there as possible

If they were having to go all summer with no practice time, then knowing the system would be really helpful, but with that summer time any new player should be able to get acclimated with his system. That Sweet Sixteen graphic shows that teams can be put together without any prior familiarity.
Biggest thing is Coach Medved has to be a good teacher of his system and he has shown he can do that while at CSU.

Probably depends on advisors and potential NIL offers in play. I'm sure many are happy with CSU retaining Ali as head coach.

Hate to break it to ya, but if he's not in the tourney by year 2, things will continue to be the same as they've been for as long as Clem's been gone. The days of building rosters and developing players for their full 4 years are over.

Thankfully the number of people still hung up on the year 0 thing has dwindled to a small group but they love bringing it up....still.....8 years later.....

As for those starting to worry about the lack of incoming transfers through 3 days.....deep breaths....the portal just opened, the coach was just hired....and the vast majority of players in the portal have not found a new home yet. Many haven't even entered yet.
