Dawson Garcia enters transfer portal

Not even going to let myself dream, but this would be a hell of a pick up for Ben and crew.
 


Has anyone used their "one time" recently? Talk about a potential HUGE building block. Obviously he is good, but just the positive momentum he would bring coming home would likely mean more than the talent he brings on the floor (which is substantial).
 



I know we were in the running, and IIRC, Indiana was too. Who else was in his "final group"?
 









He is probably a one more college year player, so the chances of him coming to the U is minimal, in my estimation. And the only reason it is minimal and not zero is because he is a Minnesota kid. As a one and done, Garcia is looking for a program that is championship bound with a lot of exposure. I hope I am wrong. If Coach Johnson can build it they will come, just not yet.
 



If Ben can close the deal... I will take back 20-25% of all the negitivie recruiting talk I've posted... We need this... Not just from a talent standpoint.. but from a positive vibe.. getting the ball rolling standpoint

He will get plenty of exposure. Every BTN add will be Dawson Garcia and the Gophers take on... " much to the dismay of Peyton Willis and Battle.

Should be. I'd guess he is representative of a pretty large portion of the fan base. We're going to be awful next year, it'd be really good for Ben to be able to sell some hope. . . even if it is false hope.

I'd say that you are more likely to be right than wrong but playing here for losing teams didn't hurt Oturu's or Kris Humphries' professional chances.
