Go Gophers!!

Cobb makes breaking arm tackles look easy. He's a tough runner with enough burst and speed to hit a homerun. He's definitely our best hope in beating TCU next week.

It was nice to see that extra gear on his long TD run. He didn't have that last year.

He was a beast once again today. Too bad he didn't get things figured out sooner in his career but he certainly is a great story. He's got good receiving skills too which I think gives him a shot at the next level.

takes a hit and stays upright. that and kung fu grip on that ball. good stuff.

Jerry Kill has created a monster!!

Not to take away from the other running backs because I feel comfortable with any of the 4 of them out there, but it seemed today that Cobb showed how much better he is than the others. His combination of vision, power, quickness, and durability are really special.

He's not exactly a violent runner.

But he is strong head to toe. Every inch of him is strong.

I love it when he changes the ball to the other hand so he can b*tch slap you.

I love David Cobb. My kind of football player. Pure.

I wonder why Williams didn't get a carry today. In the doghouse again? Or did Kirkwoodland pass him on the depth chart?

I'm pretty sure he leads the Big Ten in rushing yards. Indiana didn't play today but the point remains. TCU will be tough but I expect his usual 100 yards.

As an aside Melvin Gordon looked awful today. Something not right there.

If he can at least match last year's pace he's going to blow 1200 yards out of the water.

Um, let's not forget the o-line. He had some big holes. But Cobb has figured out really well where the holes are going to open and when to hit the hole. And his yards after contact are awesome.

Cobb is really, really good. I sat near who looked to be his dad yesterday and it was fun to watch him enjoying the day, too.

The thing that separates him from an other of our running backs is his patience and vision. I can't remember which run but one of them he did a great job of not outrunning his blockers and got a big gain because of it.

So a guy who was in school for all of maybe 6 months and previously only tweeted about his relationship with Kim Kardashian has suddenly decided to express his Gopher pride? Okay, whatever. Better late than never I guess.

I want to go out on a limb here and say that if Limy and Kill can figure out how to get a little more out of the passing game, this team WILL be playing in Indy at the end of the year. Cobb looks noticeably better than a year ago, and the defense is going to keep us in the game against anyone on our schedule. But being more efficient in the passing game is the catalyst.

Cobb has everything that you could want in a RB. He has the size, speed, power, and agility that many backs need. This guy simply puts it all together into one package. I want to be a little reserved.......but I'm easily excited. We may have a 2,000 yard rusher here. On this trajectory......Cobb will find an NFL roster. Get it done, Vikings. You'd have a star in the making.

I would like to see a breakdown of his carries by formation. It seemed to me when he was in the I with Hartman he did the most damage. On the TD run, Hartman lead left, a false key, and Cobb broke loose on the back side through a huge crease. Hopefully they go back to the tape and have this charted, but he also showed the ability on the outside zone play to break it outside. All we need is some one to give him a play or two relief. A Big 10 running back should be able to carry 25-30 times a game.

I thought he showed that all of last year too, at least in comparison to Williams and Kirkwood.

Cobb hits tiny seams and blows right through them. Other backs wouldn't see them.

He has benefitted from really good line play, but I vastly underestimated just how good he is.

3rd in the nation in yards (722) and 2nd in the nation in attempts (124).

Just like Coach Kill's daddy used to say, "We found a horse and we're riding it."

His production this year: 71, 220, 41, 207, 183

And the Michigan rush defense was rated really high. I can't believe how good Cobb looked in the Michigan game. I will say they were shutting him down early and it wasn't until the play action passes started coming and succeeding that Cobb was able to rumble even more.

I think that's a great way of putting it. David Cobb is a very, very good back running behind a very, very good run-blocking line. Great combination.

He has incredible vision.

+1. This is what sets him apart. He's not elite in terms of speed, quickness, or power, but the way he sets up his blockers and can see things open up before anyone else is amazing to watch.
