David Cobb on UW: Once we win, we'll go over there & we'll chop down their goal post

Sure you have. I also noticed that you left out where you attended graduate school. How convenient.

You caught me, super sleuth! I'll lie all day about which team I support, but I won't stoop to writing "at Minnesota" in my response.

No, you're just not very good at covering your tracks. It has been blatantly obvious to me for quite some time. You've decided to up your posting frequency lately, which I just can't abide. Enjoy the short remainder of your stay here.

No, when people post almost exclusively in Becky threads and always to the compliment of Becky and its players, they get rightfully and accurately called out as the trolls they are. You are not a fan of the Gophers. Stop the ruse.

Why is it that when someone posts Viqueens, you label them a misogynist, but then use the term Becky?

They're being misogynistic AND idiotic, as Viqueens makes literally no sense. I'm just being a misogynist - I never said that I wasn't.

In all seriousness though I love this comment. This series needs some juice back in it and this is the kind of thing that will get it started. Though I think Mr. Cobb will regret those words when the Badgers walk away yet again with the axe, it gets the blood pumping, which is good for the rivalry.

The only thing that will get juice back in this series is if we get back to a point where both teams have recorded a win in it in the last decade.

What for? Chopping down the stupid goal posts is a "taunt" something the Badgers do and it is juvenile. Gophers never really have done anything like that, at least not that I can remember. How about we sprint over take the Axe and then go celebrate with Gopher fans and ignore the Badgers players completely, then parade around Camp Randall with it until every player get's to hold it and show it off to the Red Horde. I would rather see the Gophers do our own thing than copy there BS. Let the cheese smurfs chop.
It would burn them just as much to put the Badger players on ignore as it would to chop.

I'm not sure your idea shows class and maturity any more than mock chopping down the goal post does. How about we get the Ax, celebrate a little with the Gopher fans, and carry it down the tunnel to the locker room satisfied that this time we got the Skunks number. Perhaps its a little boring and if there is something fun that doesn't show up the Skunks and their horde, throw that in. If we're trying to show class and maturity that is.

Correct. Cobb can talk all he wants but if the Gophs can't make it happen on the field it doesn't add anything to the rivalry except a footnote for the Badger fans to chuckle over.

I'm bringing a bag of fish and I'll be huckin them left and right. Then I'll march down Regent Street with a can of beer in my hand, performing a martial arts exhibition on anyone who gets in my way.

There's a reason that rational conversations are nearly impossible on this board - as soon as someone posts something against the pollyanna chorus, they get called out as a troll or not a fan. Nelson leaves the team? Leidner is better anyway! When I joined the board (after lurking for years), you weren't allowed to say anything bad about Brewster. There's so much wishful thinking and bad analysis/stats going on, forgive me if I desire a more reality-based examination of the team. From reading your posts, you'd think half the posters here are Badger or Hawkeye trolls. I've been following the Gophers since I attended graduate school in 1990, I don't have to defend myself to you. I'm not saying anything in this thread that half a dozen (or more) people aren't saying.

Seems pretty accurate to me.

I agree with the sentiment, as I like Cobb's attitude, but i am terrified at the likely motivation it adds to a Badgers team that didn't need any.

If any player on either side of the ball needed extra motivation for a rivalry like this, they shouldn't be on the team.
