Per U of MN press release:

University of Minnesota quarterback Tanner Morgan was named to the Davey O'Brien National Quarterback Award watch list today. The award is presented annually to the best college quarterback, and is the nation's oldest quarterback award. Morgan is one of 30 quarterbacks on the list and one of four who compete in the Big Ten.

Morgan was one of 16 semifinalists for the prestigious award last season when he was named All-Big Ten Second Team and set school single-season records for passing yards (3,253), touchdown passes (30), completion percentage (66.0%), passing yards per game (250.2), touchdown-interception ratio (4.28) and pass efficiency rating (178.7) in 2019.

Morgan has a 15-4 record as a starting quarterback and his 4,654 career passing yards ranks ninth in all-time in school history. His career completion percentage of 63.6% (299-of-470) ranks first in school history, while his 39 touchdowns rank fifth and his 299 completions ranks tenth.

The Gophers return nine starters on offense this year from a team that totaled 5,616 yards (third most in school history), 3,293 passing yards (school record), 294 first downs (second most in school history), 443 points (second most in school history) and a scoring average of 34.1 points per game (three most in school history).

Nice.

I do think these "watch list" announcements are kinda silly...

I hear that "A Slab of Bacon" is up for the poster of the year award! He is listed as being in the top 50 participating in Gopher Hole.

Leidballs was on that list in 2016. Combine this with first round chat and....The pieces are in place.
