Whatever happened to this kid? He was a walk on last year, and was on the roster according to ESPN.com. He didn't play in Canada, and I haven't hear anything about him.

Not sure why he didn't play in Canada. He has good size, but is pretty raw. I don't expect him to contribute for at least 2 years, if at all.

Dominique Dawson played in the 3rd game on the Canadian trip. Looked out of place to me.

Tidbit on Dawkins (back in 1975). He got large sum of $ from UK assistant coach then to simply visit the UK campus.

Hersey R. Hawkins, Jr. (born September 29, 1966, in Chicago, Illinois) is a retired American professional basketball player. After starring at Westinghouse High School in Chicago, the 6' 3" (1.90 m) shooting guard attended Bradley University, where he averaged an NCAA Division I-high 36.3 points per game in 1988. He was then drafted by the Los Angeles Clippers in the first round of the 1988 NBA Draft, but his rights were immediately traded to the Philadelphia 76ers for the draft rights to Charles Smith. Hawkins earned NBA All-Rookie First Team Honors in 1989, and in 1991 he averaged 22.1 points and appeared in the NBA All-Star Game. Hawkins was well-known for his outside-shooting ability and his defensive skills. On the 76ers, "Hawk" was the second scoring option after Charles Barkley.

In 1993, Hawkins was traded to the Charlotte Hornets for Dana Barros, Sidney Green and draft picks, and after two productive seasons in Charlotte, Hawkins, along with Hornet player David Wingate, was traded to the Seattle SuperSonics for Kendall Gill. In 1996, he played a key role, complementing Gary Payton, Detlef Schrempf and Shawn Kemp on a Sonics team that made it to the NBA Finals before succumbing to the Chicago Bulls. He later joined the Bulls in 1999, but his one-year tenure in Chicago was marred by injury, and he only averaged 7.9 points per game. He returned to Charlotte in 2000 for his final season, and he retired in 2001 with 14,470 career points and a ranking of 15th all-time in career NBA three-point field goals made.

Hawkins was named as an assistant by head coach Ty Amundsen for the 2006–2007 season at Estrella Foothills High School varsity basketball in Goodyear, Arizona.[1] He is currently the Player Development Director for the Portland Trail Blazers.

Hershey's son Cory Hawkins is a 6'1 210lb freshman guard on Herb Sendeck's Arizona State University squad. He was the first committment of their 2010 class. He was a standout player in high school and a 3 star recruit.

I think Corey is the middle son of Hersey's three boys... first was Brandon, who was a 2008 and started off at Pacific. This may put some things into perspective for some.. maybe not, but... before his frosh year, Brandon played for Pacific on their 3-game Canadian tour... he scored in double figures against... Victoria. Brandon then went on to score a total of 2 points (in 15 mins over 7 games) during his short-lived career at Pacific. He left Pacific after a year for Fresno City College and played there this past season.

The youngest is Devon... a 2013. As a freshman this past year he played with Corey. He looks like he could turn out to be the best of the three.

BTW... speaking of Portland, I loved their signing of Wesley Matthews. Now going into his second year in the NBA, the undrafted stud from Marquette is making about double what John Wall will make this year. At any rate, time for bed... rough football game (FOT mode on: Wesley (Matthews), although from Madison, WI, is a Vikings fan)

I went to college with a guy named Clifford Dawkins. He never played any sports, in fact he could hardly walk and chew gum at the same time without failing an exam. Actually, he was so stupid he had trouble pi$$ing a hole in the snow in the wintertime.
