Dan McHale to EKU

What is incorrect?

A search of public information shows the last three years of Hokenson's wages at WUI:

FY12: $47,040
FY13: $48,216
FY14: $57,000

The Golden Gopher DOBO wages:

2011-12: Joe Esposito $90,249
2012-13: Josh Adel $75,000
2014-15: Nate Pomeday ??????? (no public record posted yet)

Way to ignore the first part of my post. Ok, so I was wrong about the salary part. My sincerest apologies. But guys aren't leaving Division I assistant coaching positions (of their own choice) to take Division I DBO jobs. If you can find evidence of even one assistant voluntarily leaving a Division I assistant job to take a Division I DBO job, I'll concede the point. Division I DBOs are young guys who haven't yet had an assistant coaching position (the majority) or guys who were fired from their assistant jobs and are taking DBO jobs until they can get an assistant job again. Hell, Wisconsin's DBO is a female who was an undergrad two years ago.

Salary isn't everything. Kill and Pitino both make much more than Teague. Who is whose boss? Which job is at a higher level?

Lon Kruger's DBO (Mike Shepherd) left an assistant coaching gig at Northern Illinois to join him at UNLV as DBO and moved with him to Oklahoma in the same position. NIU's head coach was fired three years later. He's in his mid-40s.

Roy Williams' DBO was the longest tenured assistant coach in the SEC at Vanderbilt. He left Stallings' staff to become DBO at North Carolina. He's nearing 40.

Tom Crean's DBO was an assistant coach at Illinois State from 2007-13, the last year under a new head coach. He was also head coach for six years at Northern Illinois prior to Illinois State. He's in his 50s.

Fine. I was wrong. It's happened before and it'll happen again.

I think you offended him.
