Dan Hurley - love him or hate him?

No issue with something like this. After the game and clearly targeted towards some fans who were most likely acting like jackasses.

It’s getting close to a Bobby Knight act, which I could live without. For some coaches the behavior is a show like professional wrestling. I don’t get that with him. He strikes as close to unhinged.

Stole my post; stole my thoughts! I appreciate him as a coach and program builder, but I don't appreciate boorish behavior by anyone. That's a choice. It's fine to have a little edge to you, but... The Bobby Knight comparison is apt and one I was going to make myself.

I'm kinda in the mildly annoyed stage at this point. But it could get old and annoying fast though, especially if he's not winning big.

He loves when the attention squarely on himself and as Nuts put it perfectly the sport needs villains.

All winning coaches have a good chunk of narcissism in them. You have to be laser focused, able to ignore and walk over those who oppose you, and demand that those on your team rise to the same level of passion for winning.
Most of us are not cut out for such things. If you're not competing against him I am sure he's probably a fun guy to hang around with.

I honestly don't think one has to be an asshole to succeed at any job. It just isn't a requirement. He's a good coach, that much is obvious, but so is his asshattery.

I now know why staff comes around and always pushes everyone out right after a game. I guess Creighton allows folks to hang around.

Interesting actions from somebody who claims to be a devout Catholic. I thought Pride was one of the seven deadly sins?

But what do I know, I'm a lapsed Jew.
