27.3 seconds remaining in the game...Minn up 75-70 and is about to inbound the ball.....what gem does this waste of human flesh come up with..."This has all the makings of a.steal." What a turd!!

Well. It did, to be honest. That's what's pretty spectacularly awesome about this game tonight. It finally DIDN'T happen that way for once. We finally held it together. You can't tell me anyone watching suspected anything was going to come easy there.

Dan D. is a pretty astute color commentator. Has always said great things about the Barn, the fans and U of M. He always mention the need for a practice facility and said tonight "Tubby was promised a practice facility" (for the what it is worth comment.)

The Gophers had no timeouts left. He was making an observation. Nothing to get your shorts in a bundle about.

And then a miracle occurs...Tubby calls a great play and we easily inbounds the ball...doesn't happen often but I'll take it when it comes.

Was he a turd when he said, "If Indiana stays in this zone, they're going to be down 3 points after this possesion."? Dakich was fantastic. Great analysis, calling out Rodney for not hustling on defense, expecting more out of the Gophers leaders (or lack thereof). He nailed it all night long.

Dakich and Tirico were giving props all night to the Barn, crowd and how great a game it was....

Dan Dakich generally has good takes. My problem with him is he would rather accentuate a bad play a player makes than than the great play that the opposing player may or may not have made. He just comes across as nagging the entire game, but i never really disagree w/ him.

That being said, I'd rather listen to someone else.

He really liked Rodney's Oladipo leap-block. So did I.

An announcer was acknowledging the possibility of the already-exciting finish becoming even more exciting? THE AUDACITY!

My take on it is that there was nothing in the way the Gophers played the entire game that should have provoked that comment. Turnovers (10) were kept at a minimum. They had no problems inbounding the ball or bringing it up the court all game long. Lastly, the Gophers were winning the game at that pointand showed no let up of intensity. How does that equate to Indiana probably stealing the ball????? IMHO it was as ridiculous a comment as last year's "no high fives"

If the situation had been reversed and he had predicted that the gophers would come up with a steal you would have loved the call.

not true.....his job is to call the game, not to make unfounded predictions

Dakich was fine tonight. We barely got the ball in the time before, then had to burn a time-out. It did have all the makings of a steal.

With the Gophers history of turning over the ball and close calls, I think it was a good take, just did not come true. He loved the Rodney block near the end of the game, and I thought he was fair throughout. He did have some good points about the Gophers lacking facilities and how they were falling behind in that area. Hopefully NT gets an earfull about it...

I thought he did a good job. Big deal he makes a prediction. Enjoy the win and a little less hate. I have heard a lot worse. He actually makes some points.

Don't get me wrong, I loved the win and have been cheering the Gophs on through good and bad times since the days of Archie Clark and Lou Hudson. I just really thought the comment was way over the top and not called for considering how well Minn was playing

Yes, but it sure made the successful inbound all the more sweet...didn't it?

Dan Dakich is an Indiana alum and one hell of a basketball player in his day. He is trying to become the new ESPN Dick Vitale. Give him some slack. When all is said and done, our Gophers WON, and who gives a rat's ass tomorrow about who Dan Dakich babbles about next.

Shocking that there are some more gopherholers again that would rather complain about the media than the game itself. I have to admit, lots of message boards complain about players, coaches, penalty calls, but not many start close to as many threads complaining about the media. There seem to be a ton of either wanna be media members or journalism school rejects.

Dan D does a fine job, get over yourselves.

The highlight/top play was the block of the three point attempt at the end of the game by Rodney. That was unreal. How far he came and how high he got.

I actually thought he meant Indiana might "steal" the game, not just the ball and I bet many of us were afraid his prediction just might come true.

As for the comment being "way over the top", I think it was hardly that.

That Rodney BLOCK was a mile high play. Un*&^!#*&^!#*&^!#*&^!#ingbelievable. Add to it, the ball came down from space to one of our guys.

Or people that get their feelings hurt easily.

I started a thread a couple of years ago; something about with so much media negativity how about some media members you like. I think there were 3 replies.

That's more than you usually get. :)

BTW...it's replies, not reply's. Get a grip there, Mr. Alexandria.

And I should add; at that point in the game.

I thought that looked funny. Brain fart or Sr moment? That's my first ever mistake of GH.

Does that make Rodney an official member of the Mile High Club ?

This coming from someone who likes to complain about other complaining more than actually talking about the Gophers.
