We finally see some Gophers appear on the Big Ten pro prospect list that Draft Express has been putting together, with Damien Johnson and Al Nolen going back to back at spots #14 & 15. It’s a pretty detailed critique of both players, with both sharing the “bad offense, good/great defense” tag. I have to say, I was surprised to see Nolen even mentioned as a pro prospect:

I don’t know if the Gophers are still pursuing Trey Ziegler in earnest, but he still has them on his list of potential colleges:

Talor Battle’s going to need a superhuman effort to lift Penn State to a NCAA berth, it would seem:

Nice to see that BYU’s head coach Lee Rose seems to be on the road to recovery from cancer:

Mike DeCourcy provides some interesting fodder, and nails the folly of the FIU dust-up over playing Carolina in a few short paragraphs:

BYU coach is dave Rose, not Lee Rose (who coached Purdue, Charlotte, etc).

I think the write-ups on both DJ and Al were spot on, except both are better off-the-ball defenders. DJ is only a slightly above average on-the-ball and I still have nightmares how badly Kalin Lucas and Talor Battle smoked Nolen last year.

As of a month ago, the gophers have really soured on Ziegler
