Not too much going on in the college basketball scene, but ESPN provided a very thorough preview on the ACC. For all those assuming North Carolina will ascend once again to the Final Four, I advise that you read “What One Coach is Saying” from this column; it’s the same question I’ve been asking myself whenever I’ve seen UNC ranked so high:

Don’t know if you heard, but John Beilein is heading up a new ethics committee for college basketball. An admirable endeavor, but one that seems near impossible:

One last tidbit, Jeff Goodman features Iowa State transfer Wesley Johnson who is at Syracuse and poised for a big year it seems. I’m sure Cyclones fans have spent plenty of time wondering how formidable their team would be with Johnson playing alongside Craig Brackins:

Actually, I talked to someone lose to Johnson and he is quite upset because all the players he headed to Syracuse to play with left. Syracuse will still be good, but not the elite team he had hoped IMO. ISU could have been much better with him last year and would be a top 25 team with him this year.

Good to hear from you again Farmer Clone. Any idea why it's taking so long for Iowa State to release its schedule? Usually all the Big 12 teams have released their schedules by now. I'm anxious to see who the Cyclones will play at home, as I decided to get the $99 season ticket ISU offers. The yearly Kansas visit alone makes it a pretty good deal.
