D3 football question

Winona State's stadium was just listed in the top 5 D2 stadiums in the country. Although I have never been there, I have heard from a few people that really enjoyed it.

I also know SMSU just built a new stadium a couple of years ago that is pretty state-of-the-art (for D2 anyway). Been there a few times, they host HS playoffs as well as other activites and the stadium itself is pretty nice.

+1 for Winona.

Stout has nice new digs too, if you want to see some better D3 football.

Here's a link to Kirkeby-Over Stadium in Sioux Falls. Home of the Augustana Vikings, a relatively new members of the Northern Sun conference. The stadium is only a couple years old and seats 6,500 (2,200 chairback seats).

I've driven past the new SMSU stadium and it looks very nice. Last year I went to road games at Minn St - Moorhead and at Wayne State in Wayne, NE. Both have older and very basic stadiums that are only a little better than a large high school stadium.

The same people did Augustana's stadium after building Gustavus' stadium. The similarities are obvious. It is a great design.

My high school played at SMU for a state tournament game a couple years ago. It's a very nice stadium for D2, I think. The home-side has a gradstand and the away side is metal bleechers. When I was there no one went over to the away side (there had been a blizzard 2 or 3 days earlier) but on the home-side I had a front row seat which had fantastic view and felt very close to the field compared to some stadiums.

In agreement on SMSU's stadium but not Winona's. Several in the Northern Sun alone that are nicer including: SMSU, Augustana, UMD, and St. Cloud State. Winona's is a really old stadium that has been upgraded but is crammed into a small footprint. Reminds me of a high school stadium with a press box on steriods (actually suites). I have no idea who would mention that statium in the top 3 in the conference much less the top 5 in the nation for Div. 2. Check out this website for all Div. 2 stadiums. http://www.d2football.com/stadiums/
