And look at how good that team was!
Not really the point as this staff has brought in a lot more guys before May 1st whereas last year's staff brought in majority after May 1st. But they did find a few solid pieces after May 1st in Odukale and Patterson.

The big difference is that Johnson was still looking for starters after May 1st. Niko is mostly looking for rotation pieces at this point. Odds of landing a solid rotation piece will be much better then landing a player you need to make a significant impact.

If they have money saved up, I still believe that there will be a possible starter available in the next week or so. No source, it just makes sense that other big time teams are going to run out of a combination of cash and playing time that will attract guys. I'd like to see us get another big and another good 3 point shooter, but a really high end 3 point shooter might be the highest priority at the moment. Niko has the guys that can drive and dish in Willis, Reynolds and Asuma. Need that guy that when you kick it to him, you feel that he is going to knock down the open 3.

I’m hoping they land that Tyson kid and he gets back to his Belmont form. Tyson and Durkin would be a hell of a combo on the perimeter and probably force defenses to key on them leaving that monster down low (Turner) singled. Undefeated season

100%! Not having access to the War Room, my hopes ride on McGlaughlin (NAU) and Christian Reeves (Clemson) who are still uncommitted. Reeves was a MN recruit originally, but misguidedly went to Dook his first year. Tyson would be good also, but don't want to blow the ROI like NC did. Would be fun to be in the discussions going on behind the scenes! Can we safely assume Garcia is officially off the table for a return? Impatient.

I've seen you bring up McLaughlin (note the spelling) a number of times. If you're not doing so, you should look up the years of D1 these portal entries have played to see if they have any eligibility remaining. McLaughlin has played four years of D1 already. There's no way anyone in those circumstances should be recruited. There's a reason why there are so many good seniors in the portal who remain uncommitted. Personally, I don't think they are going to award an extra year of eligibility to all of these players and most programs seem to agree with me.

I was mostly joking. I’m sure there are some solid players out there right now. But the hay should be mostly in the barn

Garcia has to be less than 2% chance he plays anymore college ball and less than that with Gophers.

yep....will be interesting to see how the rest of the roster fills out but not holding my breath for any bigtime signings. That said, with the craziness of everything I guess pretty much anything is possible.

Hey....now....beggars can't be choosers.....if a kid from a fine upstanding college like South Harmon can play we shouldn't turn them away just because the school might seem a little suspect.

I'm not comfortable with their credentials and Dean Lewis is very sketch!

Best shot is if a good player loses a game of musical chairs because he asked for too much money and has to settle for us and has something to prove.

Yes, it's in Brown county
As a giant Vikings fan, I will say Brown County (aka Green Bay) is a place I always have a good time. Helps the my wife is from there and my in-laws always show me a good time! Plus I have gone to the last 3 Vikings Packers games there at no cost. FIL drops us off and picks us up after. The tailgating is a lot like college sports which is a blast. Even the fans are pretty cool there where you can trash talk each other without it getting too serious.

Me: checking the Gopherhole every day, hoping for another transfer commit only to find nothing. Sigh.

But everyone was saying we need 15 scholarships or 3 more and said all along it’s not happening. Why did anyone think that would happen? Maybe Max the qb from the football team and Noah Asuma that is going to play baseball would be better than anyone else they bring in at his point. Could save a few scholarships too!

I still think they will get a few more. You have to have more than 10 for the sake of practice and inevitable injuries. I think they will get one more rotation guy or better.

If they don't then I have a bad feeling about next season...

I’ve thought for a while we were done with the core of our team.

We have had interest in guys like Cade Tyson, Elijah Gray, and Graydon Lemke. Im sure there are more guys we are talking too but the media doesn’t know about (seems like most of our commits have come out of the blue, without knowing we were in on a guy). As far as I can tell none of these guys have committed anywhere. Makes me wonder if they are hoping for more money, or for musical chairs to give them an opening somewhere.

I expect we will add a few more guys, but they are not going to be guys who are expected to have big roles right off the bat. Maybe guys like Chance Stephens who have had injury plagued careers, or lower level guys who flashed a bit but not a big sample size, or maybe someone who rode the pine but has potential. Would love a HS recruit or two.
