Crawford-Tufts: "I hate Wisconsin. I always have. The Packers, the Wisconsin Badgers"

Crawford-Tufts was injured against Michigan State when he took a helmet to the quadriceps on a kickoff return. But he cleared up any doubt he'll play Saturday against Wisconsin.

The freshman said Wednesday that he has practiced all week and will be playing in the Battle for Paul Bunyan's Axe. In fact, he wouldn't miss it.

"I hate Wisconsin. I always have. The Packers, the Wisconsin Badgers, everybody," he said. "I have watched all the Wisconsin games for a long time and I am excited to play in this one."

The freshman from Edina said he was offered a scholarship by Wisconsin but he "didn't really even think about it" and wanted to stay home in Minnesota.

Crawford-Tufts -- like everyone who spoke this week -- said how big it would be for the "U" to win the Axe from Wisconsin for the first time since 2003.

"It would probably be the greatest thing that's ever happened to me," he said.

He's easily now established himself as my favorite freshman (sorry, Marcus Jones), and he's climbing up the ranks of the roster now. That's just a fantastic quote.

Fantastic. Let's hope he gets a fire lit under some of our guys and they play some inspired ball this Saturday!

Thatta bot DC-T! Now really show that you hate them with a couple 60-yard touchdown receptions.

Obviously his parents have raised him well!!:)

This is great for in-state recruits!

I read that this morning and thought that this is a fine young man with whom I can relate with.

We need to get to the point where this is the standard response from MN youth!

Jerry- make it happen!

We need a plaque in TCF Bank Stadium with this quote. Like what florida did with Tebows quote.

Respect for Crawford-Tufts. Now go out and show us how much you hate them.

This kid is going to be a great Gopher.

He has the speed, but he's is tough, sure handed, and now vocal. He has #1 receiver written all over his future.

Bust out this week young man, take 10 for 200 and 3, show the badger scum how you'll be kicking their ass for 4 years here.

I'm just saying DC-T probably should have his head on a swivel if he's standing around the pile biding his time.

I know I'm waaaaaaaay too old school when it comes to talking smack and I'm glad DC-T dislikes the Badgers. However, I'd rather he do his talking with his legs than his mouth.

He'd probably take a shot for 15 yards if the badgers are stupid enough to do that and piss off the refs.

He's a tough kid. Nothing wrong with a little smack talk.

So before this, they were only going to kinda hit him, but now they are going to hit him hard?

I think they will go out of there way to really hit him hard and as someone who has coached, you have to know that there will be a little extra spice in those hits.

You mean you coached your players to hit certain other players with extra spice?
