Congratulations Gophers

It showed a lot of character to come out and play a good game tonight after things had gone so poorly for so long. I really liked the team coming together and shaving their heads in support of Paul Carter's sister.

Hopefully this win will springboard the team towards a strong finish and a reason to be hopeful for 2010-2011.

I could care less if the Gophers make or miss the NIT tournament. If the rule is .500 in the conference, they will need to win at Michigan or at home against Purdue or against Illinois to get there (assuming wins against Indiana and Iowa). So essentially the Gophers need one upset the rest of the way, but that's only true if they don't get upset themselves. Chances of the Gophers getting an upset appear significantly stronger than them losing to Iowa or Indiana. That said, the Gophers haven't exactly exceeded expectations in many games this year.

They still have a shot to make the NCAA tournament. We will need a very strong finish but the way they played tonight, it could happen.

We should make the NIT if that doesn't happen however.
