Per U of MN:

Minnesota forward Jordan Murphy earned his second Freshman of the Week award, the Big Ten Conference announced on Monday. The San Antonio, Texas native was selected for the honor on December 7 as well.

Murphy scored his seventh double-double of the season this past Thursday, helping lead the Gophers to the upset win over then-No. 6/5 Maryland, 68-63, at Williams Arena. He scored 17 points, one shy of the team-high, and added a game-high 11 rebounds while also contributing one block and one steal in 26 minutes of action against the Terrapins.

The performance marked Murphy’s fourth-straight double-figure scoring game and ninth in the last 10 contests. He leads the team and ranks sixth in the Big Ten in rebounding (7.8 rpg), and is third among Gophers with 11.1 points per game.

Murphy and the Gophers return to action on Tuesday, hosting Rutgers at 7:30 p.m.

This is remarkable. As much appreciation as Murphy has gotten from us and in general, he probably deserves more.

Easily Pitino's best recruit thus far.

Mason is not half bad either. I would argue he might be our best PG since…way back when.

Mason is a stud! Here's hoping he continues to develop and doesn't hit his ceiling or have injuries derail his development like Andre.

Personally, I think Pitino and staff are better at individual development than Tubby and staff were.
