Conference Realignment Updates

At what point do the Big Ten and SEC announce some kind of new joint conference just for football?

Take the 18+16 now (34) and add X more to get to some number that makes sense. Do divisions/conferences like the NFL has, one conference each based around the Big Ten and SEC. Conf championship games can be held at the Rose Bowl and Sugar Bowl. "Super Bowl" bid out, just like NFL. All other playoff games at home sites.

Maximize TV dollars

This is really the only thing that makes sense these days.

The Big 10 nearly bent over backwards to try to entice Texas to join the conference… but Texas chose the SEC instead.
Texas was the ‘plum’ at the time they let it be known they wanted out of the Big 12.

To suggest the B1G did not ‘offer’ Texas would be akin to suggesting that the Lady Gophers did not offer Paige Bueckers.

The University of Texas has always had everything… their brand is 2nd to none… great research and academics… great in literally every sport…

No question, the B1G went hard after Texas.

The only way Texas could lose was to stay in the Big 12, and they made it clear they were leaving

There is no doubt the Big Ten wanted Texas...if you read what I said again Texas wasn't leaving the Big XII for the Big Ten. The SEC sure but not us. The fact that the Big Ten was not taking Oklahoma was not helpful either.

But I am old enough to remember the first time Texas pretended they wanted to come here...which was just a ploy to get the Big XII to agree to their ridiculous demands.

You can believe what you want, but it was never going to happen no matter how much The Big Ten pretends it was. If they offered (I will take your word they did) they were fooling themselves.

I think that a lot of people in Austin like the idea of big ten but nobody in the rest of Texas does
