I decided to compare Wisconsin and Minnesota classes by looking at those that were either 4 star by rivals or had high interest from major schools. I tried to take early committing into account as well.

Wisconsin
James C. White
Robby Havenstien
Frank Tamakloe
Beau Allen
Joseph Brennan
Sherard Cadogan

>Close
Cody Beyers
Manasseh Garner
Warren Herring

Minnesota
James Green
Lamonte Edwards
Jimmy Gjere
Chris Hawkins
Marquise Hill
Devon Wright

>Close
Tiree Eure
Harold Legania

Based on this analysis (which I know is flawed), the classes have about the same number of coveted recruits.

Huh, that's interesting. Nice post. Wisconsin still sucks.

There are certainly some players you missed out on...

If you are going to count Beyers (West Virginia) and Garner (UConn, Md, Pitt., MN) as "closes" than you should include:

James Manuel (Cincinatti, Michigan St., Iowa)
Ragoo (Miami)
Thornton (Pitt., Rutgers, South Florida)
Kirkwood (KState, Pitt., Rutgers)
Vereen (Stanford)

Rivals judges a class based on many factors. A very important one to them is how many impact players a team acquires. They've deemed Wiscy as having almost zero impact players. Although nice depth.
