Impressive offer list...Hard to believe he's only the 10th overall recruit in the state of iowa. They're producing a crazy amount of LBs this cycle

Honestly isnit really that great of an offer list? No teams better than MN at least in my opinion.

That does not mean he won’t turn out to be a player…

pJ and staff crushing recruiting, setting new standards!

Love to see the focus on the closer to home recruits. I think the odds of them staying on the team longer is better than recruits from further away geographically.
I was noticing this as well and was wondering if this was a unique year where there was a lot of local talent. I haven't looked at recruiting close enough to compare year to year.

Not insane, but nothing to scoff at. Lot of power conference offers for this time of year.
Agree its not poor, but I guess standards (in my opinion) have been raised and if MN signs a kid that has offers from a couple mid level P4 schools and the Dakota Schools I no longer consider that too impressive.

In 2017 I would have.

At least we aren't just battling Western Michigan for recruits any more! The bar has definitely been raised!

2027 Sioux City (Iowa) 6-3 215LB 3* linebacker Kason Clayborne is one of the top juniors in Iowa with offers already from North Dakota State, South Dakota State, Kansas State, Kansas, Michigan State, Purdue, Minnesota, Arizona, and Dartmouth.

MSM is making his mark in Iowa! Gophers now have the #2 LB Wallace, #9 LB Clayborne and #12 OL Clausen ranked players in the class of 2017 Iowa.
Clearly a deep class of kids in Iowa for 2027. Still finding it odd that none of the 3 have offers from Iowa or Iowa State. Not unusual for kids to leave their home state (especially Iowa) but without even getting offers? just weird. Only thing I can think is Iowa has depth at those positions and Iowa State going thru a coaching change.

Ko Kieft was an Iowa high schooler without an Iowa offer. Turned out pretty good for the Gophers. Also, Iowa high schools have had a relatively high NFL rate recently.

Pretty interesting. Ferentz is probably one of the best in the business at developing farm boys into NFL football players. He seems to do better with that type of player than they do with the occasional 4 star plus player if they land one.
