Tracy Claeys:
On the offense: We continued to come back and answer when teams score on us. We’ve seemed to find a way to answer. Think we’re playing well on offense. Can do things better, but we’ll improve.

Defense saved us after the INT to keep them from getting points. Have to fix defending the passing game to the running backs. Can’t let them run for that many yards. Playing well enough to slow people down, but not well enough heading into B1G season.

Think we missed some tackles. We weren’t ready for the QB runs. That was a new wrinkle from their offense. We’ll never complain about winning.

On Brooks: Both he and Rodney are awfully good. Rodney doesn’t get enough credit for how tough he is a running. If we block well up front those kids can make a lot happen.

On Devers: He can play more if we get ahead more. If we can put teams in a position when they have pass more, he is a weapon. Not big enough to play against the run right now. Very talented kid, only a freshman.

On Mitch’s game: He’s making plays for us. He’s big and hard to tackle. Get him in the second level, he’s really hard to tackle. He works and wants to do well. So important to him to play well especially with him being from Minnesota. Learned how to slide now and not takes hits. He’s the big reason we’re having success on offense.

I thought the offensive line did well. With those two backs and even Kobe, if we can cause a stalemate at the line, the backs can still make plays. They have great vision.

We have to play better at the second and third levels. Guys up front and defensive line and doing some great things.

Steven Richardson: He causes problems when they want to single him up. His size and quickness are disruptive.

Mitch Leidner:
On running well: I felt good, fast. The defensive ends gave me some reads to pull the ball and get some yards

Brooks: Very explosive player: Him and Rodney complement each other well. I wouldn’t want to be the guy trying to tackle Brooks when he needs to get a yard. He’s really powerful.

On having three running backs: It’s great having a fresh back the whole game. It makes it tough on the defense.

On the INT: It was close. Coach Jay said the defender made a good play on the ball. Seemed like the defender just stepped in front of it. I’m not too worried about it. Credit our defense for making the stop after that.

We emphasize being able to score in the red zone. Its tough to stop Shannon, Rodney, and Kobe down there. That’s a lot of horsepower.

I’ve never been healthy coming out of non-conference games. It feels great right now.

Shannon Brooks:
On getting back after injury: Felt great in practice getting full-speed reps. I knew I didn’t have to worry about anything this game.

I knew on Tuesday that I was going to be able to play this week. Feels good to be back in pads out there. We have a great backfield. If I'm not in the game I'm supporting the other backs. It's not all about me, but it feels great to be able to get in there and help the team.

Thanks Travis.
