College Football Has Looming Attendance Issues, Especially For Cupcake Games

But would they get more butts in seats for Iowa State or Kansas State?
If only because I suspect we'd get a fair amount of Iowa State fans visiting I would expect it...

And IMO Iowa State is a legitimate draw, but not sure what the more casual fans would think.

I frankly think that most non-diehard Gopher fans don't really care about anyone outside Iowa and Wisconsin, even in the Big Ten West. Might've included Michigan, back when it was a single conf/no divisions, but that has died off now with divisions.

PSU wasn't because it specifically was PSU. It was because it was the biggest game in Gophers history, for quite some time, because of the rankings. It would've been the same for any Big Ten East team that had the same ranking situation.

Agred, a good team will have legs for sure.

Outside Wisc, Iowa, Michigan, Nebraska... probabbly no "name" legs.

TCU had legs and wtf us even a horned frog?

Probably. It's not such a big thing for them to play a P5 but they would still travel and have local alums.

Not such a big thing for fans ... but I bet the bump is more significant for TV.

No one other than diehard and strong casual Gopher fans are tuning into BTN to watch the home game vs a MAC team.

But for a game vs K-State, maybe they'd get more interest. Maybe

Continuing to win at this level and doing it against good P5 programs will spike media coverage and bring on those casual fans.
