Getting excited for basketball to start.....even though our Gophers are going to have a tough year. Still saddens me that the 24 hour marathon is going into its fourth(?) year of being gone. That was always an event for me and my basketball buddies. The first few weeks still provide some daytime basketball, which is cool. Nothing better than tossing a game on in the background while I'm working.....even if it isn't a super intriguing game.

It's been 4 years since the 24 hour marathon has died? Damn, time flies. That was always my favorite.

College me always tried to watch at least a part of every game. I took school very seriously.

Yeah I really miss the 24 hour marathon as well. Took off work every year for it. One of my favorite days of the entire college basketball season.

Gopher here in Indianapolis. We are going to watch Butler basketball tomorrow night. 10 minutes from the house. Will try to watch IU this year too. Son is s senior at IU. Almost done. 6'9" n 265 but no basketball. Have a great season.

Do you have a site you pull this off of? I need one like that LSU one does for football.

Hofstra leading #15 Houston and Mercer beating Musselman’s Arkansas both early in the second half.

Hofstra going to OT with #15 Houston. Houston made a 3 to tie with 23 seconds left.

UVa down 7 to Navy at half. Lol.

Pitt loses to the The Citadel by 15. Maybe we have a shot at that one.

While the win over Kansas City isn't anything to brag about, it's always reassuring looking around and seeing other P5 schools (Pitt, Nebraska, Georgia Tech, Cal) losing, and realizing that just surviving is something to be happy about

And we play 2 of those teams!

Just curious, after tonight will the St. Thomas love stop after tonight and people start to realize they are a first year D1 team in the summit league? Some people on here are worried were going to lose recruits to them and they might be the best team in the state! Lol if we ever lost to chicago state that would set us back 20 years lol

OOC schedule seems to be easier than originally thought. Pitt loses to Citadel and WKU barely gets by Alabama State who was 343 in KenPom. I had those as losses, but they might be wins at this point.

Beating WKU means probably losing to SC, but I'll certainly take it over a loss to WKU and a win over Princeton.

Well, Chucky Hepburn does not look like your typical Madison player. Gard is not Bo.

These early season games got me thinking way back to when the Great Alaska Shootout was one of, if not the marquee early tournament. I had to look it up. Ended in 2017. It was a great run, and surprised they were able to keep it going as long as they did vs. all the warm weather options, which eventually did (mostly) spell its demise, as Puerto Rico, Bahamas and other options started to appear. . .
