Murray, you know better than to even ask that. Of course... If very soon there is not a full public announcement about incoming qbs, Gopherholers will just assume that: 1) there is no plan, 2) it's a disastrous situation, 3) the coaches and athletic administration are all clueless, 4) we are the only school with this situation, 5) somehow this is because of NIL and (and we must not have any money), 6) someone needs to be blamed, and maybe publicly flogged, 7) no tickets will be sold next year, 8) all our other good players will transfer, and 9) we will never make it to a bowl game again.

What am I missing?

PJ won't disclose anything since he thinks he's smarter than everyone else. He will make a game out of the situation. Same reason why he doesn't talk about injuries until 2 hrs before game time.

You could ask about the heating coils or if Ben Johnson is at fault for this.

I'm pretty sure he is smarter than most of us on GopherHole. He is making $6 million/year to coach the Gophers. We have virtually no power to impact the future of the program and are wasting our time complaining about him for free.

By the end of that next season we had the QB with the most winning starts playing.

as far as a plan - to quote that great American philosopher Mike Tyson

"everyone's got a plan until they get punched in the mouth."

I don't know if Fleck was expecting two QB's to portal out - unless he gave a Deion Sanders speech after the Wisconsin game and told everyone to hit the portal.............(and I don't think that's what happened.....)

I think Fleck offered a portal transfer QB a roster spot, and then two of our rostered QBs immediately lit out for the hills.

The first to head for the exit had been the starter, and he dramatically under-performed while in that role.

The other kid who split for greener pastures hadn't even played a down yet.

If that's a "punch in the mouth", I can live with it.

He offered the QB from Delaware.

I'm with you; he been here a long time, certainly paid some dues. I'd love to see him get one start.

I mentioned that in the post he was replying to, so it seems odd that he'd feel the need to repeat it.

That was my point: Fleck offered a transfer portal QB, and it caused two of our current QBs to take off running.

To me, I don't want a QB who is afraid to compete.

To repeat what others here have said, the transfer portal changed everything. We will have to get used to a new normal.
