Cochran update - "tangible progress"

Serious question, as I know nothing about him as a player. Ability-wise, is Tyler Cochran closer to Elijah Hawkins or Lu’Cye Patterson?
I’m not sure when/if we will see him this season…I’m just wondering if there is any hope or potential for a lift. That’s where I’m at after only three B18 games. 😖
Was going to copy and paste a YouTube video of some of his Toledo highlights, but couldn't make it work, so I'll just tell you. He's a physical big guard, rather than lightning quick. Uses his strength to get where he wants. Is generally moving to the hoop rather than east-west. Seems to have a nose for the ball. Hard to tell where he is defensively, but I think he would be a noticeable improvement over Patterson on both sides of the ball. A Big Ten difference maker? Probably not. Would he help? I think definitely. He and Okedele were honestly the only 2 transfers I was kinda excited about over the summer.

I’m hoping for a little boost, and any alternative to Patterson’s endless pounding the ball into the floor. Which means Cochran probably never sees the floor this year (sigh).

Patterson's glue hands make me feel like I'm going to have an aneurism

Is there any update on whether/when he’ll play? So tired of Patterson dribbling out so many possessions, and his horrible shooting. At least Patterson can shoot free throw and he has dished some nice assists.

The team is +51 with Asuma on the floor and +1 with Patterson on the floor.
That checks out. Asuma moves the ball. He'll make mistakes but you expect that from a freshman, no matter how high they're rated. But he's also going to show flashes of growth. I'd rather Cochran takes Patterson's spot in the rotation if / when he plays.

He was the MAC defensive player of the year last season

And he's a guy that will make a high percentage of 3's if he's open.....which we are in dire need of.

This kid should seek a medical red shirt and Get Out…. Like the movie
