Hasn't made a decision to stay or go apparently?

Joel Maturi told me that Justin Cobbs has been granted a release from his scholarship if he's interested. Wondering why he's hesitating?

I'm sure he is officially transferring, he just doesn't know where yet (hence the twitter comment) that's the way I've interpreted this whole thing anyway.
 

Perhaps he sees more PT here now that Coree (sp) has decided to go to Texas.

I hope Justin stays.

Could be I guess. I would think if he's been granted a release it would have been asked for so it seems a bit odd to me that there hasn't been an announcement.

The only info that I saw was on Twitter ( reliable source .. lol ) and that there were hopes he would transfer to a school like Long Beach State.

A little harsh, IMO.

If you're him, you see the writing on the wall...Devoe will be point if Nolen isn't back, and they're recruiting PGs over him. At best, he'll be a 3rd reserve at the PG spot by his junior year.
 

Hope he lands in a place he is happy with. IMO, would never be an impact player, but a capable role-player on a decent team.
 

Would have seen big minutes this year as a soph and could well have started as a junior. Wish he had stayed..
 



Has there been any official announcement on this? sounds like he's done/gone deal but I have not seen anything official

Yeah, he seriously must have just hated it here. Some Cali boys just aren't built for Minnesota I guess lol
 

it was a two way street, people kept wondering about whether Justin wanted to come back but the truth is he wasn't wanted back and the decision wasn't his to make anymore, the gophers have moved on from him for some time now. He had made it clear all year he wanted to go home plus felt he deserved more playing time once Nolen went out, but in the end, his attitude really rubbed people the wrong way.

Marcus tweets he's going to Cal. I didn't think he'd end up in a BCS conference, frankly. And on a fairly good team at that. Though I don't know what thier guard situation is specfically.

After I read your post, I recall in another thread about how Tubby told Maverick (another Cali kid) something like "to go home and think about it over the weekend, make sure this is what you want." Maybe you have something there.

This makes me feel a little better about thinking he wasn't a very good player. I only saw a back-up at best.
