Felt all day that he was gonna break one for 50+. There was one run for a first down on our final drive that he cut and made someone look absolutely silly. A Purdue player got hurt on the play so I was fairly sure we'd see a replay on the jumbotron, but it never came.

He totally shook that safety. It was epic

David Cobb became just the 5th Gopher to record multiple 1,000-yard rushing seasons, joining Darrell Thompson (1986, 1987, 1989), Tellis Redmon (2000, 2001), Marion Barber III (2003, 2004) and Laurence Maroney (2003, 2004, 2005).

He is 451 yards shy of the program's single-season rushing record.

Cobb also jumped from 14th to 10th on the all-time rushing list.

Yards behind...
9th - 73 (Garry White)
8th - 159 (Amir Pinnix)
7th - 201 (Tellis Redmon
6th - 814 (Marion Barber)
5th - 955 (Chris Darkins)
4th - 996 (Marion Barber III)
3rd - 1,530 (Thomas Hamner)

I know he probably won't reach all of them, but just wanted to show them for context.

Cobb made up some serious ground with his performance today. I did the rough math and I think he goes from like 11th in the nation to about 5th.

Just think of how crazy it would be if he was doing this when he was a freshman! He would destroy the all-time rushing list! Ahh if only:cool: Well hopefully Jeff Jones can be our Cobb of the future!!
