Coach Kill Press Conference - 9/17/2013

Ya think there might be a few more people in the crowd than usual jaymil?

Kill has a big opportunity here

I don't expect Jerry Kill to go after the media because he is not like them and is all class, but he has a huge opportunity here to bring the general person to the gophers football team and himself. Here's hoping that he takes advantage of the situation and calms people down as well as tastefully b!tchs!alps the media and individuals (which I am all for naming each one individually).

I for one, would be just fine if he went on a calm and collected rant. I don't think he will, but I think he has every right after Souhan's blatant cheap shots.

Souhan doesn't show up...

Shocker...Souhan is a coward. What a small inconsequential human being. He and the Strib deserve each other. Petty useless sh_it piles that they are.

Actually think he'll be there. How could he not?

Wait for the article blasting Kill for not doing the press conference at Jim's home and leaving Jim to just wonder the answers to his questions.

Then he did say " It wouldn't make any difference. Good question though." Handled it very well.

He said Edwards and Kirkwood will be cleared to practice fully today. Good news!

Kill: Berkley Edwards (& Kirkwood) has been cleared to practice. He's a freshman, and we've got 3 backs playing pretty well.

Coach Kill might've dropped a hint about a possible Berkley Edwards redshirt by saying there are three running backs playing well - this was picked up on, and Kill reminded people that he pulled the redshirt off Philip Nelson in the sixth game last year.

Of course it would make a difference. Then all the fans in attendance wouldn't have to be rewarded with the sight of a middle-aged man writhing on the ground.

Kill handled the start very well. Said he would not answer questions about his condition because he wanted to talk about the players and the game.

Took the first question (What did you tell the players about your condition?), and very politely said he wasn't going to answer that and then offered the reporter one on one time to discuss. She even apologized for asking.

All kidding aside G.I.I., we sit on the Visitors' side across from the Gopher bench. We had a number of people around us Saturday that hadn't seen Kill have a seizure. Maybe they hadn't even seen a game yet at TCF. They were visually and verbally pretty shook-up and worried about Kill. We "regulars" talked to those around us and calmed people down, but they were bothered by it, they were scared for the Coach. Can't say that we weren't a little scared for him too when it looked like the seizures were continuing even on the stretcher when he was being carried out.

Souhan's line about protecting people from watching Kill "flopping on the ground" demeaned the people who just were "going to a ball game" and had genuine concern for the health of a guy who looked like he was going through hell.

Dispatch: We have shots fired. All officers, shots fired.
