Terrible. Just terrible. What, are they hoping for some Marvel Guardians of the Galaxy tie-ins or something? They could have settled on Spiders long ago, and I think most people would have been happy.

Not quite as bad as the overly generic, singular "Wild" name, but still bad.

Think I have to go out and get a Chief Wahoo-era hat before they become extinct...

So, I have been in Cleveland a couple of times. I have probably driven by those big statues, but until this story broke, I never knew those statues were called the "guardians."

from a cynical point of view - if their bullpen blows a save, look for a lot of headlines like
"Guardians fail to guard the lead in 9th-inning loss."
