Thought I would do an update on the Class of 2014 before focusing on the Class of 2013 race to signing day. On that note DE/FB Birk Olson (6'3 235) from Monticello pickedup an offer from Air Force.

For the Class of 2014, no new offers reported since Frank Ragnow (6'6 285) from Chanhassen picked up an offer from the Gophers. However I know a number of juniors have been taking unofficials to BCS games with Ragnow, Preston Woods (6'3 280) from South St. Paul, Zach Hovey (6'5 225) from Eden Prairie, and Andrew Stelter (6'4 245) from Owatonna attending the Wisconsin - Minnesota game. I know Hovey and Matt Juneau (6'4 225) from Champlin Park were at the Gopher-Purdue game. Blake RB Marcus Berg took a visit to Northwestern.

Will be posting Class of 2014 Defensive Players later today. If anyone has updates or players that should be considered for the list, feel free to contact me at [email protected]

Awesome info as always Vames. Thanks a ton for putting this together.

Go Gophers!!

Isn't Travis more likely to play basketball at the next level?

Those are some huge QBs - 6'5", 6'7", 6'8" as Juniors so they may grow 2 more inches. The QB for De La Salle is a whole foot taller than his RB.

Alex Copa is most likely going hockey, so I wouldn't worry about following him to closely. EJ Ejodamen, RB from SLP, has been an absolute stud since the 3rd grade. My son played football with him for 3 years and won 3 Blaine titles with him. He lived in the Spring Lake Park district and the rest of us parents couldn't convince him to go to Blaine instead. Anyway, I haven't seen him play in high school, but it would be real interesting to hear from someone who has to see if he still is a head above the rest...

This year at Washburn, Jeff Jones faced some injuries. They have another junior RB/LB who to me was equally impressive. Maybe not quite as quick, but bigger and stronger.
Raymonte Maynard, 5’9 200, RB, Washburn - In 8 games, has 69 carries for 914 yards (13.3 ypc) and 11 TDs

There are indeed a number of tall QBs in this class. Travis does have a boatload of D1 basketball offers. Of all....Keaton Studsrud is probably the closest to the Phillip Nelson model. Just received a note that Studsrud had passed for 1342 yards and rushed for 1131 yards. Probably a little off from Nelson's junior year stats.

Eji is definitely a interesting player to watch. Has good size, has a 10 ypc in a pretty solid conference, plays two-ways, and is pretty athletic from his track and field stats.

The "other" Washburn RB, Raymonte Mayard, is along the same lines by being an interesting player. Stockier at 5'9 200. However his 13.3 ypc is pretty impressive as well!

On mostly a positive note, there were a significant number of recruits at the game yesterday with most of the top in-state players in the stands to watch the game. It would have been nice to have a Purdue performance against Michigan, but I am a believer the team is still improving and on the right track.

There were also a number of Class of 2013 players there, which I am guessing are leading candidates for PWO offers or late offers similar to Duke and Lauer's situation last year.

Plus at least one Class of 2015 - Jashon Cornell (6'4 225). Make offer now to be the first of many BCS offers this player who recorded 14 sacks and 26 TFLs for Cretin-Derham Hall this year.

You can add Marshall's Tyus DeBoer (6'5" 275) OL-DL. He took a visit for the Northwestern game. Conference lineman of the year.

I think Eji will be a good D1AA or D2 player. I don't like he's quite up to snuff with the rest of the B1G for his postions

I agree 100% the Studsrud is the closest to Phillip Nelson. I think after watching most of the QBs in this class, he looks most like the prototypical U quarterback for this offense.

I think the best QB in this class is Connor Wilkie. He's more of a pocket passer than a run threat. Not sure if he would bode will for our scheme, but the decisions and throws I've seen him make are absolutely astonishing for a junior in high school.

I was able to see Frank Ragnow play once this year and was extremely impressed. He plays so angry; which is hard to find in a high school o-lineman. He reminds me a lot of the Ryan Winn lineman we had a few years back.
