Clarification on season ticket fees...

Great news! I just heard back from one of my contacts at the U, the the process is NOT changing this year. Some people accidentally got the wrong mailing.

My guess would be that this change could be made in the future, especially if Tubby takes us where we all think he can...back to the Final Four. So, it's always a good idea to start saving up now for the long-run...but it won't be happening this year.

My next question would be. ... how was the wrong mailing accidentally sent out? That's not a mistake you want your local sports team's ticket office to make. Obviously (self included), it scared the bejeebers out of a few of us.

When the time comes to make this decision in the future for Gopher hoops tickets, I'd like to have a decent amount of time to figure out if I can make it work financially. ... not just a month or two.
 

you've got to be kidding. Also, great news. Thanks GL for taking the time to call the office. You were probably much more composed than I would have been.

I have yet to hear back on that question...that's why I personally, came to the conclusion, that it will happen, just not now. I can see $100 or $200 increase, but a $1000 is something most people simply can't budget for, when already budgeting $600+/ticket. At least you have a year's notice now, at the very least!

Another possible reasoning, is the mailing was all ready for people that already pay the $1000 fee, and got sent out to more than just those sections.

You might want to keep a budget for next year for this!

Then you can spend it after July if it turns out to not happen.


But seriously... how do you make this mistake?
 


Judging by every time I've talked to the ticket office, it is pretty obvious how they could make this mistake.
 

I just spoke with Joel and he informed me the basketball season ticket prices were not going to jump $1000.00 per ticket this year..... except for the shikenjanski tickets. He indicated the shikenjansk's season ticket order form is correct. Joel said he personally mailed that one himself.:)
 

Accident

While not surprising given my own history with the ticket office, I am still a bit in shock. How can a multi million dollar outfit mess up its customer service so badly and so often?

I have been on the wrong side of their poor communication a few times, and they have bent over backwards to correct the immediate error. It's clear, though, the system still has major problems.

Sorry about your hike, Shik. Maybe it's just a little bonus for former players to endear them to the program.:)

I guess I'll have to roll with it. If Joel says it, it must be so.

Maybe with my "donation" I can get a urinal in the new practice facility named after me.

sure. and you will also receive a one year supply of urinal cakes with pat reusse's picture pasted on them to keep it smelling nice and fresh! they will be manufactured in fulda, mn.

exactly. it's actually a more shocking occasion when they actually have their stuff together. i also love the fact, that it's here, on a well read message board, for a few days...and they did nothing to clear this misunderstanding. it was our posters that went to go seek out information, had they not, everyone would be in panic, which would turn to frustration and anger. damage control, u of mn...ever hear of it?

When you say everyone, you mean about 150 people that visit this board right.

I have season tickets and I didn't freak out. It seemed pretty unbelievable to me from the get go.
